We are getting excited about heading off to Europe tomorrow. Cindy has done a great job making sure all of our last minute details are buttoned up. We are both taking only one carry on with a back pack for our 3 plus week trip.... read more

A weekend get away is one that will often "refresh" you from the chaos of everyday life. This past weekend our family and some friends headed to Northern Wisconsin for a stay at Lakewood Resorts. Located in Cable, WI, this is a family friendly area on the lake offering condos with full kitchens :) We took advantage of the full kitchens and cooked dinner a couple nights on our stay there. It's nice to have a unit with a kitchen because it allows eating at a low-cost for a large number of people. Some people have the idea of get away as absolutely no cooking at all. I see your point--but think about some of the quick easy meals you can do in the kitchen. One night we made frozen pizzas and another night we had ... read more

June 2010 We have visited Trembaly’s many times. Both of my sisters and their husbands love to fish. Every year they go to one of the lakes near Hayward, Wisconsin and fish for a week. Not loving to fish quite as much as they, we only make this vacation once every three to four years. The best part of the trip though is the one day mandatory drive to Tremblay’s. Hayward has one of those downtowns devoted primarily to tourists. However, I’ve never once groaned about going back to Hayward again. I even got my hair cut at the local barber one year. Well, with only a couple weeks left until our big trip west to SD and Yellowstone, Nate, Kate and I ventured out to our first camping trip of the summer to the Two Lakes Forest Service campground near Drummond WI. We got to the campground mid morning on a friday and to our disappointment found all of the prime sites taken, however we found a very nice site on the side of the campground that borders the smaller Bass Lake. Friday was a great day and we spent all afternoon on the lake. Me fishing and Nate & Kate swimming around mostly but fishing a bit as well. We didnt catch much but had a huge northern following my bait toward the boat until an un-named person got excited and spashed down their lure near the ... read more

Northern Wisconsin is a beautiful area with a great north woods feel. We camped one night near Drummond at Two Lakes Campground. It was colorful with vibrant leaves on the trees and the ground. The day we arrived was sunny, which made it a great day to walk and take pictures. During the night the weather changed, so we were glad that we did our walks the day before. We moved to Hayward to visit with my cousin Sharron for a couple days. It was fun to see her again. George got to recite “The Cremation of Sam McGee” again. This time it was to entertain Sharron and her friend Joyce, who recited portions along with him. Hayward is a great town with different activities throughout the seasons. There is a museum that literally stands out ... read more
