We said goodbye to Jane, Paul, Aislinn and Attikus in style at the Columbia River Gorge . This was pretty cool, as we had seen the source of the river - The Columbia ice fields (in the Rockies) - with Marilyn and Richard, and we would see it enter the ocean in Astoria, where we were headed. After goodbyes and coffee, Jono and I hit the road to the coast. As soon as we were out of the city we noticed a growing accumulation of snow on either side of the road, and in no time at all we were driving (very slowly) over a snow and ice covered road.
