Snowboarding Report

It's 6:30pm, our bellies are full with spaghetti and matt is reaching for his 2nd can of Sierra Mist.. great for energy he says..

Our 2nd day of boarding has come to an end.... and we are aching... I have fallen over about 50 times in the last 2 days (no exaggeration!!).. and Matt has put his hip out dodging a pile of oranges in the supermarket..! No lie!!

I hate the treverses and am shocking keeping upright on the flat pistes. Matt is a great teacher though!!! Claire is coming in two days, and I'll be skiing with her for the best part of a week so that will be a nice respite!

There are some amazing views from the top of the mountain... on one side you can see the yellowy-browns of the nevada desert and on the other is Lake Tahoe (see pics). We have a hot tub on our apartment complex, which i think will turn into a regular post ski activity!

The pistes are incredible, considering there has been no snow for more than 2 weeks.. they make good use of their snow cannons. We have made the first lift both days to get the empty slopes and the corduroy, bashed pistes. Snow is expected Wednesday.

Meant to be starting our spanish and japanese lessons, but always feel too nackered for study apres ski! They have so many movies on Nevada tv, its a huge distraction.... Eeek.. must start soon!

Oh and the pad is cool. Included some pics of that too.... is comfy and cozy.. and MUM -the heating is good..its always hot in here, so no need to stock up on thermal PJs for when u come over. 😉

Glad you made it to Yanksville in one piece - don't feel badly about being detained at customs Nat, it happens to the best of us! Is a very sobering experience watching your traveling partner get moved away while another officer approaches you pulling on a blue rubber glove.............. Anyway, good to see Matt's athletic prowess is being put to good use - dodging oranges in the supermarket?!!! What were they doing, throwing them at him?! Pics look amazing so hope the skiing/boarding is too. Look forward to your next installment - checking out your blog and pics has kept me "busy" for at least 45mins!

Hi, Everything looks fantastic there, feeling very envious, it hasnt stopped raining here allday. Wish we were back in the Carribbean. how many breaks do you 2 need? i'm gonna have to stop a zillion times an hour - beware. glad the flat is cosy. enjoy yourselves next week will be nice to have friends with you. practice skiing nat for my lessons - matt don't you practice you have got to be a learner like me. Desking
Loving the sweet decking on the walls, i may bring my power jet spray to give it a once over! Do they allow refreshment in the jacuzzi? Looks very blue and picturesque. Looking forward to it. Fingers crossed for a good dump.

there is a sign in there that says "no refreshments in hot tub as per nevada state law"... however we also found a bottle opener in there..... i think that says it all....

we are getting your messages and we got the one mum put onto the blog... not sure why you cant see it yet... the "comments" go public but if you leave us a "message" i think thats private hence wouldnt be published on the blog.. As for dressing gowns... you could do. not neccessary, if they fit in your case, then might be a nice luxury... Hot tub is less than 10 metres away.. its super hot, so once you get out you will be pleased of the 10 metre stroll in your undies (or dressing gown) back to the cabin...

hello nan, grandad and karen... thanks for your messages....they made us laugh!!... being a beginner at snowboarding is very hard... so i'm going back to skiing tomorrow for a little rest :) Its so warm and sunny here... is a shock there is even any snow left.. meant to be getting a snowfall by the end of the week! hi natalie and matt just spoke to nan she says sorry she hasn't been in touch lately, her computer is broken hoping to get it fixed soon, or get a new one. do they keep making snow until end of March? still not worried we are counting down the weeks until we see you both. hows your skiing coming along - up to teaching mode. am going to milton keynes think i'll go mid week so not many people there to have a giggle at us..,

Hot Tub
Its been dumping quite heavily, hopefully get some more before you guys come over. Glad to see we stole a march on spurs and signed a world class striker, imagine what Heskey and Harewood can do as a partnership. Go H-Force!
