Well the view from our suite was fantastic, looking up the strip on to New York, New York, MGM could even see the Eiffel Tower - which we went up early evening where you can see all across Vegas & the Ballagio fountain show -beautiful. The tower took 2 years to build and was opened in 1999 and is half the size of the original.
So what did we get up to, shopping mainly, much to Mr 'I don't like shopping' disgust, when all he did was complain about the walking, his feet aching & how he needed a beer & how much money I was spending! So how come he ended up buying more new clothes than me !!!
Vegas was fun, the hotels were unbelievable, top of the range shops in all the top ones, including Gucci, Tiffanys, Louis V and many other wonderfullly expensive shops, that I can only dream about being able to buy from - did treat myself to a little something in Bloomingdales tho - but didn't tell Hubby lol
Food - I think I have managed to try every American dish available, have decided that most of them are fried or
covered in something sweet, which means I have put on all the weight I lost before coming here, and more I expect. One bar we tried did make us laugh, (Dicks in The Excalibur) where you should only go if you don't mind being insulted; where they put 'huge' paper hats on you with insults written on them - one that made us giggle, was on a woman in her fifties (mind you if it had been me I would have thumped him) said "I'm like beef jerky, a bit dry but still very tasty" Mine read "I am wet !" - but I won't go into why here ? 'Mr don't come near me, I'm not wearing a hat' didn't end up with one, as I think his look scared the barman !
We are the last of the big spenders when it comes to gambling, when asked in the lift by an American "How did you do last night, guys?" to which we replied "we didn't gamble" think this answer really perplexed him, don't think he could understand coming to Vegas and not gambling? But I did 'break the casino' I tripled my money one evening, $15
dollar bet, walked away with $50, happy days, which I promptly lost 2 nights later!
Finished our last couple of days beside the pool, which was in a lovely setting with palm trees & waterfalls.
Summary
Have seen so much diversity from such a small area of a country it amazes me; we covered almost 2,000 miles although that is a lot, believe me in this country it is nothing; have seen some of the best views a country can offer (although I expect a lot of people would beg to differ & show me something better); have eaten food that could feed a small country, but thoroughly enjoyed most of it; have drunk deep from the well; this visit has changed my personal opinion that all Americans are loud, over the top & brash as we have met some lovely friendly people, who are genuine, pleasant & very polite; wish our country could adopt the same customer service this country & it's people offer - and courtesy on the roads; would I return - yes!So this is 'goodbye' for now - not sure where our next adventure will take us, Australia I imagine, so watch out I
have the 'blog-bug' so you could be hearing from me again !

I've Followed your whole trip just to see an outsider's view of us...
so thanks for thinking that not all Americans fit the stereotype, and that you will return.
