Famous Dave's Best Barbeque ever!!!! Dave Anderson, founder of Famous Dave's, lives for barbeque. Growing up in Chicago, home of the Blues, Dave's passion for ribs began as a young boy when his dad would bring ribs home from work in his lunch bucket. His dad would get the best tasting slow-smoked spareribs from street corner vendors who used 55 gallon smokers filled with charcoal and smoldering green hickory wood. They were the legendary ribs just like the champion pitmasters used to smoke way down in the deep south. http://www.famousdaves.com/ ... read more

Welcome to the 2007 Paulsen travel adventure. For a few of you who may not know we are again traveling for about 10 weeks, but in the US and eastern Canada this year. We are working our way east and then will head north to Maine and Novia Scotia. Hope you all receive this, our first entry for the trip. After a slow start we got the toy hauler loaded and headed east leaving a little late (11:30 AM) on Thursday, May 10. We are doing major reorganization in Missouri so we can at least walk through the space. With 2 bikes, 2 hard kayaks plus an inflatable boat and our other travel supplies it is a little crowded. Plan to move the kayaks to the bed of the truck and lock with cables so ... read more

We got up early again. Rain. And lots of it! WE stayed in a KOA which was nice but lots of standing water on our RV lot. It is such a pain to pack up in the rain. This KOA was quite nice and they served Belgian waffles for breakfast (free, of course!!) on Sundays. I am not a big breakfast fan but Mike is so he was happy w/ the waffles. Now we are headed to Missouri. Tomorrow we are going to see our friend, Jan, in Jenks, OK. We met her and her hubby on our first trip out in 03. Her husband, Tall Paul, died shortly after returning home. We have not seen Jan since then but have stayed in touch. We are very anxious to see her and her family. We will ... read more

Geo: 37.209, -93.2916Springfield, Missouri was my home from July 1990 until January 2005 (or 2004??). At the moment, I can't remember what year I moved.... .I just know it was the last week of January and it was a mild winter. Springfield is easy to drive in, an inexpensive place to live in a nice home, and fantastic employment opportunities await those interested in working. Springfield is a clean town, not too big, not too little, and the residents are, in my opinion, almost always friendly! Even though I no longer call Springfield home, I will always love Springfield.... read more
