Well, we have arrived in Branson, MO, after 2 L O N G days of travel. Never slept so much on the road before! John & Gail, our Aussie friends, are getting to see parts of the US that are new to them. Mike and John left early this morning to go to Brian's Truck Shop to have some work done on the F250. No troubles, just routine maintenance. They should return later this afternoon. I will be doing some school work. After she wakes up, I am sure Gail will find something to occupy herself. She is enjoying a nice sleep-in this morning. We will decide what shows we want to see and have a nice, grilled chicken for dinner.... read more

We spent the last few days in Branson, MO, celebrating our son, Jeffrey's, 29th Birthday! Most of you know Jeffrey is our only child and was born with special needs and .... that he is the light of our lives! Jeff loves music and dancing so we decided on a trip to Branson and took him to four shows. He was recognized at all of the shows when they announced his Birthday. Since he inherited his love of the spotlight from his Mother, he loved all of the attention. The 70's Show starring Barry Williams, better known as Greg Brady from the Brady Bunch, was the first show we saw. Not the greatest technically, but very entertaining and, as a huge Brady Bunch fan, Jeff loved it. The second show definitely lived up to it's name, ... read more

4/29/2012 - Mickey Gilley Show Lounged around the motorhome today, Aleta washed up the bedclothes getting ready for the road tomorrow morning. Shelby T lounged around and read. Later that evening we went to the Mickey Gilley Show. Very interesting how, he told his life history in his music. He did all 17 of his #1 hits and more. We bought a DVD of the show. We were recognized during the show as being from Mickey's home town of Ferriday, La. Mickey performed from a chair most of the show, but his voice was still very strong. Mickey took a fall a few years back while assisting a friend move some furniture and severely damaged his back. Does not play the piano now, but his goal is to get back to it. After the show we ... read more

4/27/2012 - Jack & Barbara left for Florida this morning. We slept in and then left around noon to visit Aleta's sister in Bella Vista, AR. She has had some health problems, but recovering well. Fran had prepared a good supper for us and we enjoyed it with them. Smothered pork chops with potatoes, onions, and carrots. Then Fran and Johnny took us for a ride around Bella Vista, Rogers, and Bentonville. Saw the first store opened by Sam Walton - The Walton's 5 & 10. You can really tell this is the home of Wal-Mart with all the corporate buildings in this area. On the way back to Branson, we stopped off for a square dance with the Ridge Rockers of Pea Ridge, AR. Was a really enloyable dance and all the dancers were friendly. ... read more

4/26/2012 - Began travel around 9:30am today headed to Branson, MO. Short pull today rather than the 360 miles of yesterday. Stopped at Lambert's Cafe for lunch. Along with your meal they throw fresh rolls to you, bring blackeye peas, fried okra, fried potatoes with onions, and molasses for your rolls to your table. There are three of the Lambert's Cafes, the #1 in Sikeston, MO, #2 in Ozark, Mo, and #3 in Foley, AL. We made it to Branson Ozark Country Campground. We are on site A1 with Jack/Barbara on A2. Jack/Barbara here only one night. We went to the Pierce Arrow show tonight, really good show. Luke Menard who was on American Idol is part of the group. Geo: 36.6415, -93.2177 We figured we'd never get this old. I mean, Branson? Really? But it was a Very Fun Place. Lots of entertainment in a clean, upbeat, pleasant environment. And the surprise was it wasn't just old folks. There were hundreds of families with small children as well. It was like Las Vegas minus the sleaze. We went to the Sons of the Pioneers Chuckwagon Dinner Show at night, an impressionist that afternoon, and still managed to sneak in Horray for Hollywood the next morning before leaving town. The winding hill country of the Arkansas Ozarks is a biker's dream. Even I felt like I needed to be on one. It's 15 degree turns in lush green plummeting down, down until you're dumped out on the plains of Oklahoma catching your breath. You like bikes ... read more

Yeah! We reached our final destination. WOW! What a trip!. If I spell or don't use the right "punkcuation"..blame the after driving libations!! There is so much to see and do in this area, we decided to spend another day here! Needless to say, we forfeited a couple of cabin stay fees..but who cares?, we are on vacation. If you visit this area you must go on the "Ducky" ride, lots of history and a ride on the beautiful Table Rock Lake in an amphitamin? (truck that drives on roads & floats in water??). You must also visit the "Fantastic Caverns". Ride a trolley through underground caves that are unbelieveably beautiful. We will leave tomorrow (Saturday, I think) heading for Tulsa, OK. Talk to you soon!... read more

Geo: 36.6415, -93.2177Left the motel today and headed off to the Bass Pro Outdoor World, the biggest Bass Pro Shop in the USA. It was amazing, with live Alligators, tanks full of Bass and stuffed animals set into woodland. We then made our way to the Fantastic Caverns, a drive through cave system in the hills and a historic hangout of the Ku-Klux Klan.On to Branson the holiday capital of Missouri, and 2 nights in the Hilton which was located on Branson Landing right on the river. We had some beautiful crab and margaritas for lunch at Joes Crab Shack then headed back to our room as Branson was expecting severe thunder storms. We awoke the next morning to good weather and took a scenic rail trip through the Ozark hills then went to visit the Titanic ... read more
