We have watch’d the seasons dispensing themselves, and passing on, We have said, Why should not a man or woman do as much as the seasons, and effuse as much? We dwell a while in every city and town; We pass through Kanada, the north-east, the vast valley of the Mississippi, and the Southern States; We confer on equal terms with each of The States, We make trial of ourselves, and invite men and women to hear; We say to ourselves, Remember, fear not, be candid, promulge the body and the Soul; Dwell a while and pass ... read more

Finally, I've managed to edit and organize all of the trip pictures. From the Shutterfly link below, use the password (boomerang) to access my 4 albums and click on the one you'd like to view, then click the "View as Slideshow" link to the right. The Fiji and Australia albums have the most pictures and I'll admit there are quite a few of photos of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge since I was experimenting with light, angles and my new camera, but in order to not delay this any further, I've kept them there 'as is'. Thanks for your patience and enjoy! I hope I inspire at least one of you to take up SCUBA diving or go to Australia (or Fiji or Hawaii)! http://darrenelwood.shutterfly.com ... read more

This, however, was the subject of mass confusion, ... read more

Today is a Marian feast day. That means the Marist sisters celebrate a little more than usual. The only difference was we had wine at lunch and we had to get up early for Morning Prayer (6:45AM). Usually, we pray in the afternoon on Thursdays. Anyway, I thought I would tell a couple things that I found interesting. First, the Franciscan priests that live across the street and take a vow of poverty, have a flatscreen TV in their kitchen, as well as a big screen TV in the living room, and have salted cashews all over the house. I’m not quite sure they understood poverty…however, they are very kind priests and good company though. Another new thing for me is eating with actual SILVERware every day at lunch. The sisters use their silver daily. We ... read more
