I started today at the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library. Yup, it was as exciting as it sounds. This was by far not the best Presidential Library I've been to, but I think it did leave me with a better understanding of Hoover. A few miles down the road was the home of the American Pickers. Of course they weren't here, even Danielle was no where to be found. Although they do have a few picked items for sale here, they are generally overpriced. What you can purchase here is a ton of T-shirts, hats and anything they could put their Logo on. They do however display a lot of Picked items that you'll remember from the show, but most of them are not for sale. After a quick pick in Iowa I decid... read more

Well the time is getting closer and closer... 6 months of planning and saving money is about to set into motion. the last 7 years in Terre Haute has been pretty enlightening and it has sculpted me into the person I am today but more so it was the people I met in there that had the most effect, from Terre Haute North, Dairy Queen, and Texas Roadhouse. Im going to update my blog as often as I can so people can live vicariously through me and see what other parts of the world have to offer. One of my goals in doing that is keeping the writing short and to the point so there is no dull reading with plenty of pictures for visual gratification. To recap on my life in midwest America, it consisted ... read more

Lauri had to go to Indianapolis to meet with her academic advisor, so I rode up to McDonald's to blog and arrange for new tires at the Urbana BMW dealer on Wednesday morning. I came back to the house and started a load of laundry while I waited for the UPS truck to bring my new Zumo 550. It arrived about 2:30 p.m. and I was pleased to see that the XM radio module remembered all of the weather, traffic and XM data, so all I had to do with put the Zumo in its cradle and make some basic user settings. I was also pleased to discover that this model speaks the names of streets and roads. I rode over to Thorntown, via U.S. 32, to Gene and Sandra's place, then Gene and I went ... read more

Lauri had an 8:30 a.m. class, so she dropped me off at the northside McDonald's to get my blogging and Wifi fix. She showed up about an hour later and we hung out awhile, then drove up to Lafayette where she returned an art history book to the Ivy Tech bookstore. Then it was off to retail heaven at Meijer's where I got a microfiber eyeglasses cleaning cloth to replace the one I left at home. We went to some friends' house for grilled pizza dinner and a pleasant evening of conversation while the boys enjoyed the swimming pool. Since we were up late last night, we bagged it about 9 p.m. The bike had the day off and never left the barn.... read more

So I drove to Crawdfordsville, Indiana to visit Ropkey Armor Museum. The museum is real hard to find for it is out in the middle of no where. The museum is locate on a farm and has about 20 tanks there but this is only part of the Fred Ropkey's he owns over a 100 tanks and 4 airplanes. Some of his tanks have been used in films like The Siege, Mars Attacks, and Tank. I mainly went for Indiana Outdoors, a TV show where I am a producer. I never thought that something like this museum would be in Indiana. ... read more

A roadtrip to Wabash College in Crawfordsville, IN, to attend the fraternity regional/Panhel 2002. Meeting up with our fraternity brothers from Wisconsin, Michigan State, and Wabash. Wabash College is all male college, and around 95% of the student population is associated with ten national fraternities. In order to dig more chicks in (which they are good to begin with), they created the Panhel event, which imitates the Panhellenic, the sorority association. Long story short, this is when the whole campus is wet, all students are basically drunk for a whole week, many are hauling kegs to classes and parties. I guess we are fortunate enough to taste the tradition of Wabash College.... read more
