St Augustine

After returning the rental car to Gainesville we picked another up to drive to St Augustine. We got a hotel room for the two days we were in St Augustine as our host fell through. It was a blessing in disguise as we really needed some rest days to catch up on sleep and the rest of it. We were really disappointed with St Augustine as a town. The downtown historic area was very attractive and lovely to absorb while dawdling around but other than that we wouldn’t rave about the rest of it. There were a few historic attractions but in this day they have been made too tacky touristy and don’t offer value for money. However, we did enjoy lazing about, the art galleries downtown and swimming in the hotel pool.
