Pulling into North Beach Camp Resort, 4125 Coastal Highway, St. Augustine, Florida always feels like coming home for us. We've stopped here for a few nights on our way into Florida (October or November) for the past 9 years. If we don't take the Panhandle heading home; we stop again in March or April. Full hooks up, nice staff, indigenous plants between sites offering more privacy, nice beach across the street, heated pool, and two restaurants (one on the Atlantic Ocean; one on the river side) all add to the attraction. We're always on the lookout for something new. This trip, we discovered that we can drive the Jeep on part of the beach. So another year has crept up on me and we found our birthdays once again approaching very quickly. I say we because my birthday and my husbands birthday are exactly one week apart. He is exactly one year and one week older than me. Maybe it was just me, maybe the hours were getting shorter, or maybe it was the fact that it was my first birthday since I had baby and most days are just a blur. Regardless of the reason, I was turning another year older faster than I could ever remember before. Normally I would plan an adventures out of town trip to celebrate our birthdays. With both an Atlantic Ocean side and a Matanzas / North River side, Vilano Beach has miles and miles of ocean beach and water views. We're back at North Beach RV Resort which stretches from river to ocean divided only by scenic A1A! We've camped at North Beach almost a dozen times over the past 7 years. We've noted changes during that time span; but it is probably the things that are constant - like the lush, indigenous landscaping between camp sites that we most appreciate. We spent most of our time right at North Beach. We walked along the beach where on day one a wedding rehearsal was in progress and on day two guests were arriving.
