Florida adventure - Orlando & Disney World

Leaving the Keys, we drove to our next destination -- a time-share in Orlando. Turned out that each of us got our own suite for a room! Irene & Carl (Nicole's folks) were in Orlando, so we met them for dinner that evening, then later tried to watch a movie. Had a bit of troubles with the surround sound, so 2 guys came out to fix it from maintinence. Took probably 20+ minutes, and it was already 11pm, so Carl & Irene went back to their hotel. We decided to meet the next day at Disney Animal Kingdom around 9am.

For the next few days, we explored Animal Kingdom, Disney MGM, Epcot, and the Magic Kingdom together. The sun was out full-strength, but it felt great. We went on every ride we could; some four or five times! The crowds were minimal -- only 15K in each park -- so getting around was rather easy & painless. Would estimate the longest we waited in line for a single ride was 15 minutes. Got some great pix of us on Mt Everest, a roller-caoster ride that went backwards. Poor Carl got SOAKED on the Kamala River ride, but he was a good sport about it. Managed to do a bit of shopping, visiting with each other, and really have a good time in the parks. We only had one bout of rain while in Epcot that put a squelch on things for a bit. Had split from Carl & Irene that day while in Epcot to venture out to Magic Kingdom, and upon returning to meet them for dinner at "Rose & Crown" it poured and poured. Eventually, we opted for one of the plastic rain ponchos to keep somewhat dry. We wrapped up our Disney adventure with a great meal & fireworks at Epcot.

• Going on Mt Everest ride & taking pix
• Christmas decorations all thru-out the parks
• The stunt show at MGM
• Dinner & fireworks at "Rose & Crown" at Epcot our last night
• Watching Cinderella's castle light up at night

Nicolel & I hung out pool-side early morning, then caught a flight out that afternoon. (Returning home to a balmy 42 degree Seattle night with a dead battery...) It was a fun trip & on the plane back, we discussed going back to just venture 'round the Keys sometime ;-)
