For 4 months Getting nicely settled in. I bet you are glad about that even though your assistance was minimal. Lulu is ecstatic. She worked like a dog (best she could with her limitations). Cory arranged with a Detail Cleaning service (we use the same guy every year) to come here and wash & wax our RV and car. Each year when we get down here, we follow this same routine. No more New York dirt, salt and grit on our vehicles. The cloudy, grey colored mud huts are gone. They did a beautiful cleaning job. The vehicles just glisten and shine. You need to wear sunglasses to look at them. Now I have to get busy and clean the inside windows of these 2 units. Yuck.
While they were working on our vehicles, Cory and I decided to take our first walk of the season. He walked alone yesterday.....now I have told him I want to walk with him. Why?......you ask. Our friend, Sandy Foreman, was the reason I bought a Fitbit last year. It broke and so I stopped any exercise. Perfect reason. I thought when I walked from our Shongo house living room to the kitchen was adequate....wrong. Well, she didn't
Alligator Pond
Can you spot the 'gator? stop walking. And, WOW.....does she look great. My thigh is as big as her whole body. She's the size of a "peapod!" I'm so jealous. She said she walks five miles a day and still basically eats the same. Seeing her teenie body - she immediately became my new inspiration and I quickly adopted a New Year's resolution. It's called WALK!
I bought a new pair of Sketcher sneakers (with memory foam insoles) and now I'm ready for a walking marathon. I hope you all have your hiking boots on. We are going to do this together...no and's, if's or but's. Lulu is a bit frantic cause no way is she staying behind. We decided she could just roll her head along and that way, she won't miss a step.
Cory and I wandered around a good portion of the park. Went past the alligator pond out back. They put in a new fountain. Sandy said it lights up at night. Nice, very nice. We spotted a little alligator in the pond....can you see it in both photos? We saw more friends along the way which was nice plus gave me a momentary resting spell. Whew!
We
ended up in the lobby of the registration building. Got our mail-key from Karen. She's the answer to everyone's problems. Cory saw Art and Lee who are the technical experts in our park. They said they would make a house call to our RV for our non-working Internet, bad TV reception and broken outside TV. Fellow camper friends now began to gather in the lobby for coffee and chatter. It's beginning to look like almost everyone is here that are referred to as "long-termer's". Since this park just recently changed ownership (now we are owned by Encore) some things have changed, also. No more differentiation between long termer's and over-nighters. All parties are open to everyone in the park so we will have to get in line for our tickets the night before they are handed out. Thank heavens, I have that bug defense suit!
As we left the lobby, Sandy & Sam were ready to start their walk. Okay, we can do this...I think we can, I think we can. Back us up, folks. We jumped in & joined them. Sneakers working very well. We marched together like soldiers .....up and down every roadway in the Sandcastle cottage
area. Whew! Foolish girl.....we weren't done. Sandy led us up and down every roadway in our RV section. Whip, Whip, Whip....she kept us going. Good for her....that's what I need....a strict sergeant! What was really good, though, was we saw more and more friends. Hail, Hail, Hail - The Gang's All Here! Finally, the major hike was over. Yay! Totally dehydrated, I dragged myself inside our RV to get liquid nourishment. Aaahhhhh. That was good. I knew you were dry, too. I heard some panting, too. Drink up.
Art came down to check our non-functioning devices. Quick as a flash, he had the Internet working, our TV's with super sharp reception and with the outside TV; he just touched it and, miraculously, it was fixed. Hallelujah. Thank you, Art....the man with the golden touch.
Just hung around the RV - puttering around. Lots of stuff to putter with. Cory is a busy little beaver out there. He's made our outside look snappy and beautiful. Another man with a golden touch. Good job, Bucky.
OMG....tiny Sandy is walking past our RV on her many walks again. Maybe I'll have to pull down our front shade so I don't see
"Peapod" Sandy
My new walking sneakers her....that way I won't feel guilty. Stop! NO excuses. I'm determined to do this healthy, body shrinking routine. So, Get up, Get up! We have to get going....we are hiking again with this marathon maiden. I think my thigh is thinning already. Maybe it's just the worn and weak muscles recoiling in pain. Time is going to tell if these work outs are successful. Pray that we succeed.
I took a photo of a blimp (not a selfie) passing above our RV. In the morning, there are hot air balloons that frequently float over us. On occasion a sky writer reminds us that Jesus Loves Us. So much entertainment to see without moving an inch.
Our RV has a new license plate this season. It is from Aruba. Last year, we were from St.Martens and before that: Hawaii. Cory loves the astonishment and questions that folks walking past ask .....how did you get it here? He has told them: on barges, through big tunnels and on air transport. They are amazed. Mike, our good neighbor, posed with Lulu (she loves him.....such a flirt) as I took the license plate photo.
Cory took a walk alone before supper.
Our RV & Car
Washed & Waxed He walked to the big grocery store: Publix, located in the Celebration (town that Disney originally built) plaza. He'll be the size of Tiny Sandy way before me! Jealous green is the color of my fat and flabby skin.
At night, our site glows ....gorgeous....and we aren't done yet. I took another snap of the signage in our front window....just because I love it. Lulu, does, too. Our daughter, Lory, gave us the hanging solar lights. First only one beauty was working until Cory pressed the button on the winding lights that go up and down the pole. All solar!! Perfect, as we try to manage the electricity better. Our window lights are on a timer. You can now find us easily when you look us up. We are taking donations for the lighting performance. We leaving the lights on for you just until 11:00 PM so don't dawdle.
