8Am Morning Walk View,A BoardwalkTraveling from the north to the south , heading to Florida this first coast town is often missed by many . This is a vacation paradise ! The beaches are just beautiful and both the locals and tourist alike are extreamly nice . This town puts on a fantastic 4th of July event that will knock your socks off ! The fireworks are shot for over an hour in length and right over the ocean ! It is one of the biggest firework displays i have ever seen besides Epcot center in orlando . There is always out door concerts at the pavillion on weekends during the summer , with music styles of every kind ! There are out door , right on the ocean.... dinning and dancing from the decks of many clubs and restraunts . One very hot spot is called Lynard Skinards , opened by the late skinard's wife , this dance club draws in the crowds with rock and roll bands who hit it big ! A must see hot spot is a place called petes . This place is nothing more than a local pool hall and drinking establishment , but what makes this place so
hot is the fact that it has been there since 1933. It has been passed down for generations and on every wall, you will find photos of the history of this place from the very begging ! The bartenders are some of the fastest and best in the area and this place really racks em in ! If you are not a smoker and cigarett smoke is anoying to you , then you better stand outside and look in from the street lol ! The clientel ranges from locals , surfers , and what i like to call the yuppies ( people with big bucks , and fancy cars ) also tourist , bikers and military . The great thing about this mixture is that in this one small place.... everyone seems to get along and have a great time ! There is a feeling about this place that just makes you feel accepted . Right around the corner from petes are several great restraunts and most everyone has live bands on the weeknds , with some having live bands during the week as well and running specials . 8Am Morning Walk View, Condo & Bird Reflections In The Water ! , Ragtime , Sunny Carribean , Sticky Fingers , Al's Pizza , The martini Bar , The lemon Tree , and many more ... too many to list ! The streets that connect this group of places, are done with bricks .. each with the names of the people whom bought a brick to help in the cost of restoring the streets. There are many hotels , motels and B&B's and even a few campgrounds here . St Augustine is 45 minutes from this area ... and the drive down the A1A ( coast ) displays views of marsh lands , beaches , and sleepy beach towns . Crossing the bridge over to St Augustine be sure to keep your camera ready as you will want to snap a photo of the most goregous veiw of the ocean and the shoreline of St Augustine, you have even seen ! So if you are headed to Orlando or any where futher south ... stop in at Jacksonville beach and spend a night or two , you just might find you love it ! Cost wise ... this area is about average ... lower than Orlando , ..... about the same as
Daytona .
