Inspiration is in FLORIDA! Stayed here for a week

Strong winds and a need to regroup after the rush of getting down here made for a one week stay in Fernandina Beach. A couple of days were so windy that we didn't even get off the boat!!

Nov. 18th, 2013 – We're in FLORIDA!!

Well, thanks to the help of Randy and Jimmy, we are now in Fernandina Beach, Florida! The Sunshine State! I'm wearing shorts! I LOVE Florida!!!

The boys began their drive home on Saturday morning. I'm pretty sure they had a good trip - a good adventure! After all, they did get to do the ocean passage that all three of them were so eager to do! I'm just happy that they got our boat to FLORIDA! Have I mentioned that I love Florida?!? 😊

Since the last time I wrote, I did meet up with the boat in Georgetown, SC. It was a sweet little town that, unfortunately, had just recently been devastated by a fire destroying 7 businesses on the waterfront. (For those of you following Brian and Jane's blog - Jane's A LOT better at all the town descriptions than I am!!!) (Sailblogs – Mar-a-lago)

Anyhow, the boys left Georgetown and did the outside hop straight to Florida! It took them 38 hours. I met them here after spending two nights in Charleston.

Charleston was lovely! I enjoyed a horse and carriage tour, walked all around the historic district, and walked the waterfront park to see the fountains - where solo wading is prohibited - but one may wade with a friend! 😊

So here we are in Fernandina Beach, Florida. It's a cute little town too! We are on a mooring ball, and the dinghy has officially become the "car". The Marina here has all the necessities: Shower rooms, laundry, a lounge with wifi and TV. We are just waiting for a small front to pass through on Tuesday and we will start to head further south on Wednesday. Now that we are in Florida, Tony and I have agreed that our pace is going to slow down. We are no longer in a rush to "get south". We ARE south!!!
