While visiting museums large and small, on three continents, we've occasionally found an unheralded gem. ... is still in the same family. It was built of hand-hewn timbers fastened with wooden pegs instead of nails.

... is now a restaurant, but was formerly a bank and a bar.

... you can go sport-fishing, or take sailing lessons. It's at the north-west corner of the Historic District.

It is to the east of the historic district, and has nothing to do with the History Museum. I've included it because my rendition of my original photo looks so much like an Alex Colville painting: I hope you like it too.

I love your Atlantic Beach rendition. It does look like an Alex Coville painting. What an interesting island so steeped in history. You have shown me how much history abounds no matter where one travels!!! Thanks for educating me on this great little Island I'd never heard of before. Great pictures and excellent information.
