The night before, Mike had been telling me about the crowds in Telluride, and how they always arrive at dawn to grab the best seats for events. Clearly, that took hold in my mind, as I was awake, or dreaming about not getting a good seat, for most of the night. As such, I was up at about 6 am, and dragging my Cute Blonde Boy with me to place our chairs as close to the finish line as possible.

I guess "at the finish line" is as close as possible.

Nobody else showed up until about 8 am. Sigh.

So, having established our sapce, we went off in search of breakfast, which we found at Baked in Telluride -- yum. We killed time wandering about for most of the morning, then Mike joined us in seeing what the festival grounds had to offer. We did finally find the radio, which was an FM radio, pre-tuned to a frequency that would receive a play-by-play, as long you're within sight of the finish line,

We did get interviewed by the Denver CBS station -- and apparently had our 5 seconds on TV.

After lunch at Floradora with Mike & Sara, we were back in place at the finish line in time for the guys to come thru way early (about 20 minutes early, I think). Tyler Farrar took the stage.

We had to hit the road, to get to a campground on the way to Gunnison before dark. We chose to not go as far as Blue Mesa Reservoir, as we originally planned, but stopped at Cimarron.
We read a bit, gazed at the stars a bit, then tucked ourselves into the Durango for a snooze.
