We were scheduled to leave the cabin by noon on Friday. Glenn and I "repacked" our stuff in our overnight bags, for the next 3 nights, until we get to Frisco, Colorado. That way, we don't have to lug our large suitcase around, and I'm packed in the overnights and my make-up bag. We did the same thing with David's stuff. We had way too many toys for him, especially since they had toys in the cabin already.
We made instant oatmeal for breakfast. David ate 3 packages. Emily ate 2. Lucy is so cute. When she wants to eat, she will climb up into her high chair, turn around and even put her bib on. Yes, she is a climber!
Glenn had pre-loaded the van the night before with all the bicycle stuff such as helmets (oops we didn't use those). Before he folded up the bicycle trailer for the kids, he took them for one more bike ride. I rode along too.
We left the cabin by 9:15 in the morning, and headed towards Colorado Springs. I had Lucy in the RAV 4 with me, and Glenn had the both David and Emily. We got to Focus on
the Family before 10am. And David recognized it from his previous visit earlier in the week.
We were there for about 1.5 hours, then we headed over to the Comfort Suite hotel. I decided to use up some of my hotel points and share them with my g'kids. This hotel has an indoor outdoor pool. And also a 2 story water slide. We had stayed here 2 years ago when we had just Emily and David.
We tried to check in early at the hotel, and no rooms were available, so we around the corner to Chick-fil-A. I walked next door with Lucy in my arms and got me a Taco Bueno salad and walked back to Chick-fil-A. What? We did Chick-Fil-A at noon time again. Ugh. But the kids enjoyed it.
Dad had bought some floaties for the g'kids. And even a boat floatie for Lucy to see in. This little floatie for Lucy had frog "eyes" right at the mouth level. Gdad told Lucy many times not to bit them. Sure enough, she bit it one too many times, and the frogie eyes deflated, making the whole floatie deflate. Ugh. Fortunately, Gdad purchased 3 sets of floaties for the kids, so
we had an extra one for Lucy.
I think David went down the slide at least 50 times. I wasn't counting, but he loved it. Emily went down only once BY HER SELF. The other times, she was part of the "train", when G'dad would have Emily and Lucy in front of him and they would "fly down" the slide.
Lucy was so tired that she even could manage to stick her thumb in your mouth and with her other hand sooth her ear (as a kid would hold on to their blanket) - all with those floaties around her arms - she still manage to suck her thumb. Cute photo I have.
The kids did not have an afternoon. Our thought was to have fun in the pool, come upstairs, bath time, then supper (jelly sandwich) and then bed. We got out of the pool like at 3:30pm, threw the kids in the tub. Even though they had been in the water for most of the afternoon, they still loved the bath water.
I rolled up the girls hair. Lucy slept in the pack-n-play that we have. Emily slept in the hide-a-bed couch, and David slept on the floor on the cushions
from the couch. Emily was FIRST to go to sleep. Slept all night. David fell asleep second and little Lucy was enjoying looking at herself in the wall mirror.
One of the things Lucy does real well, is when she first wakes up, she just loves to be held. She'll lay her head down on our shoulders. I love that.
