The was literally an overnight trip. We left home early in the morning and arrived at Yosemite Valley that afternoon. We camped at Upper Pines Campground in the Valley, also something I never get to do because in the Spring and Summer it's near impossible to get reservations. Billy was the amazing chef who efficiently prepared every meal. That afternoon we trekked up to Lower Yosemite Falls, where Billy AND Paul jumped into the freezing pool. I was very anti (knowing that tourists drown all the time in the winter)... which probably just encouraged things. Billy made it halfway across to a rock. Paul lost his man card to Billy, as Chris put it. He made it about ten feet before freezing up. After that, we went ice skating at Curry Village, ate dinner, and huddled and chatted around our campfire. We all nearly froze to death that night.
