Well on 28/01, we flew into Los Angeles from Vancouver and met up with Az as planned (except we were given separate rooms and we thought Az was missing in action) But he stumbled upon us on the street of downtown LA. That night we headed to Hollywood... What a fake and over-rated place that is. In fact the best part about it was Hooters. The day after we headed to Long Beach and saw the Queen Mary But generally it's ordinary, then onto Santa Monica (after we worked out the stupid public transport system, In LA, stations are based on street names not places!!) and had dinner on the end of pier. California is cold in January, but I like it. I came through LAX airport on the 8th without any problems from the American customs, and to be greeted by the lovely Susan Mathis who I met on my Machu Pichu trek a few months ago. She was fantastic, first we went to brunch with a couple of friends, then back to her place so I could check my emails and brush my teeth before she sent me off to San Diego in a train. Then I had 3 great days with Mariana and Lucas from Cordoba, ARG, and all their friends that are there on the same temporary work programme as them.
