Our final day in AZ. We promised ourselves to say “NO” to the sales pitch, but we did agree to sitting in on the Bluegreen update so at 9 am we did. And gained a $75 mastercard. And learned some things. The man was very nice, and kept saying, the only thing we could improve on was to buy the “Travelers plus,” for just $59/year, but only available to purchase if we bought more points. “only $2.60/point” for minimum of 4000 points, but we held our ground. It sounded only like gaining a travelers agent, which we don’t need. We were in Gilbert at the Riparian preserve by lunch time, eating only a ton of clementines, to try to get rid of the bag we bought last week! We must have walked around for 4 hours, ... read more

I'm sure some of you were wondering if and when I was going to create an entry for our travel blog. Up until now we have been in the planning mode for our trip to New England. Now we're down to the final 9 days before we begin our trip and things are starting to move more quickly. It's been six weeks since I retired and I'm loving every minute of it. She loves the break and I think she would like it to be more permanent!! Sally retired effective yesterday and came home last night with mixed emotions about leaving her job, as well as friends ... read more

Hi there, lovely people, Trish here. Yesterday we got back from Flagstaff, which was cold at nearly 7000 ft to Phoenix which is hot, low desert. We're back at Bruce and Mandi's being treated like royalty. Very nice. We came back via Sedona, which is gorgeous, surrounded by red, jagged cliffs. It's a very arty sort of place, lots of galleries. Also very New Age. Just the place if you want to get your shakras tattooed or your crystal ball shined. We passed on those. It's been interesting going through such a diverse landscape. I noticed that if you go down a thousand feet or so, the leaves are out on the oak trees, and spring has hit, whereas it hadn't yet, back up the road. Today, we went to malls. Seriously went to MALLS. Mandy ... read more

Hi Everyone, what a week we are having. Trying to tie up loose ends before we leave for 10 weeks is a little daunting! But... we did splurge on a mini-netbook and are really loving it. It weighs 2.6 pounds! So, we'll try to let you know where we are and what we're doing. The kick off date is a week from Friday, April 29th, when we'll fly from Phoenix to Ft. Lauderdale to hook up with our cruise to Gibraltar, Great Britain as the first stop on our journey.During the next week, we'll try to learn how to put up photos. Although not too tech saavy anymore we have hopes of being able to do this ;-) Next entry, May 1 from Florida. Until then, have a great couple of weeks. ... read more
