...cruise vacation continued!
Our first stop of two was in Progreso, Mexico. This was a new port to all of us. This port is unique in that you have to take a shuttle for several miles just to get to land. It is one of the longest piers in the world, and illegal to attempt the walk.
None of us booked any excursions and decided to just head to the beach. Once off the shuttle, we walked several blocks and found an area where we could sit with our feet in the sand and be served. We were surprised at the number of children peddling necklaces and other items on the beach. Jeremy got sucked in and helped a little girl by buying one and just letting her have the whole $20 bill. It wasn't long before other children came over to target him too!
The great thing about this area is the cheap massages, with the tables right on the beach. I got my first massage ever - but was surprised when the lady undid the back of my bathing suit top! Jason was right next to me, so I wasn't worried, but it still was unexpected.
We finished up our time at a bar called Buddy's also on the beach.
After the drinking all day, the shuttle back to the ship became a party bus! Between our group and 2 others, we were having sing-alongs and dance-offs in the aisle. I've never seen anything like it, lol!
