For years I have wanted to work on a cruise ship. Five weeks ago, I was offered a job with Carnival Cruise Lines to be their newest "Club o2" Director (supervisor of entertainment for 15-17 year olds). When hired it seemed so exciting and soon, but then this wait game began. Waiting for medical approval. Two days ago, I got all of my medical reports sent off. I got my tentative ship, home port and travel assignment. Extreme nerves set in, but under all that began anticipation and excitement. Yesterday I was told that the medical department needs an explanation for low calcium, protein and sodium. And therefore I won't be going until they get it. Back to waiting.... read more

The City of London is closed today! No transit, no schools.........no nothing! Apparently, this is a "first" in over 30 years.........lucky me! So, Kate, you were asking just how much snow did we get........ Ok, I know that not everyone is interested in this particular entry, but it was the easiest way to send these pictures for you (family and friends) to see. This is what I woke up to today! And just think.........a week ago I was in Iceland and the ground was clear! So, it's definitely time to find the box that has my winter boots in it (I just moved into this house before going on the world trip!). And I don't own a snow shovel either............I knew I was looking at buying a condo for a reason! Anyway, lucky me again, with ... read more

Apologies for the lack of updates guys. I just haven't been doing anything worth writing home about. In my last blog, I mentioned I started work as a chef. Well, that lasted all of three days. What can I say, I couldn't take the heat so I got out of the kitchen. Twirling crepes wasn't my idea of fun. So I land this brain-dead job as an IT Security Administrator at a retail chain called Best Buy. It was tough work though... tough trying to stay awake each day. Come to think of it, I also slept on the bus and train to and from work. Maybe it's chronic fatigue. Or maybe it's because it was the first office job I had since leaving Sydney and I couldn't get back into the 9 to 5 routine. ... read more

(I must be losing my "blogging" touch, because it appears as though this last part of the Blue Lagoon blog didn't get published on the web! Can't have that happen...........so here it is! And if it so happens that you did get this twice, .....oh well! I can use all the help I can get!) - I decided to add a picture from each country, to kind of give you a summary of where we've been and what we've seen. Enjoy! (Happy Pat, from home in London on Saturday morning) So, as I wish you all farewell and adieu........(and I'll miss you!).......I will add my commercial break here: Now that I am home, I'm "open for business". Check out my website: www.patmussieux.com This blog will become part of a book I am writing, to be called ... read more

Hello everybody! Welcome to the Bilton Blog! The purpose of this space is to create a forum for sharing more closely in one another's lives - may we all make diligent use of this space, and phooey if you don't! Looking forward to seeing the updates as they roll in! I had typed up a lengthy opening blog, but with a couple of ill-placed keystrokes blew it away into oblivion, and know not how to regain it. C'est la vie! I will attempt to post a couple of pictures, and figure the rest of this blog out! Cheerio, enjoy!... read more

Day 1 It was a day like any other day except the flight from Glasgow to London took off late then held us in holding pattern just to make sure we were sweating over the time to check in for the next flight. Thankfully we made it but our luggage it turns out did not (now currently reported MIA somewhere in Heathrow). The flight went fairly well until someone ordered a James Bond cocktail and the pilot had to shake us around for two solid hours, but we are here safe and sound but may have to wear the same pants for a few days (and we don't mean in the american sense) however this doesnt phase kenny. ... read more

TORONTO - PART 1! Sorry for the prolonged update. Is gonna be quite a big post, will try to update more often! I will put up some pics too, shortly... Well I can honestly say I am having a fantastic time in Toronto! Its a wonderful city and I settled to it very quickly. I am staying in a hostel called Canadiana Backpackers, which is very nice and great fun. They serve pancakes with maple syrup for breakfast every morning, which was good at first but the novelty wore off quickly...my plan is to fly to Quebec on December 9th, then head to Montreal before Ottawa for Christmas. If the next 9 ½ months pf my trip is as amazing as the first it is going to be out of this world! I had a quiet ... read more
