This would be my first hike in the Toronto Section of the Bruce Trail. I finished the Iroquioan section 2 days earlier. I was planning to park in the Kelso Conservation Area and than walking northward to Acton. When I got there at 7AM the conservation area had a sign up saying it would not open until 8:30AM. I tried to park on the side of the road on Campbellville Rd near Hilton Falls but every section of the road had a sign saying no parking allowed. I also saw a sign saying the overpass on the 401 for the Bruce Trail was closed so even if I parked at Kelso I would not be able to walk the Bruce Trail anyway. After sitting in my car for a few minutes I came up with a ... read more

You might find it a bit cheesy that I start this travel blog with a trip that was very local. Well, why not start with baby steps? Besides, the views and vistas from this little venture were so nice that I couldn't resist adding them. http://www.travelblog.org/Photos/6680628 Rattlesnake Point in Milton, Ontario is less than an hour drive westwards from downtown Toronto and a little more than that from where we live. It's name conjures up images of snakes but most travelers will wonder how this very non-threatening place got it. Rattlesnake Point got its name from the glaciers that cut through the Niagara Escarpment thus creating a twisting path in the landform that resembles the way the rattlesnake moves...or something like that. It is actually a United Nations Biosphere protected area and is an important locale ... read more

It was a bit of a challenge to get home for Christmas - we were in Georgia and our car was in Virginia. A ride with new friends to Savannah followed by a one-way rental to Richmond, pick up our car then on to Sauble and Milton for Christmas with family. It was a great family time - Pat & Claire flew in from Calgary, so it was wonderful to spend so much time with our family and especially our new grandson Luke. The brief taste of a Canadian winter was enough - 5 feet of snow guaranteed a white Christmas! Now we are back in Brunswick, with a few jobs to complete before we continue south. Temps. are in the 20's C and no sign of snow!... read more

Hello everybody and Welcome: Thanks for joining us on our Disney Adventure. It's sure no Pat Mussieux Around the World By Private Jet adventure but it will sure be a magical one. It's nice to be able to share it with all of you in this way. We're done packing...I think. It's only a week but I packed for Portugal for 7 weeks. I don't think I'll sleep a wink tonight constantly thinking about what I'm forgetting. We're definitely last minute people. Just picked up Maya's passport today in Kitchener after only dropping off the application this past Monday "Urgent Service"...lmao. Yup, last minute people! Flight departs tomorrow morning at 10:35 on WestJet. I'm so happy the moment to leave is almost here. It's been a stressful two weeks waiting on those blood test results for ... read more

Bilton Christmas 2006 A few pics from last night's proceedings - a good time was had by all, and fine food was consumed. There were many highlights, but the one that stands out in my mind was the general thumping I delivered at the pong table! On the receiving end - Sam and Tim! Of course, there is such a thing as writer's license, and my memory may be a little selective! 10-Jan-07: Sorry for the delay in publishing this entry - I thought I had, and was starting to wonder why nobody had said boo. Thanks to Carolyn for letting me know! ... read more

Hello everybody! Welcome to the Bilton Blog! The purpose of this space is to create a forum for sharing more closely in one another's lives - may we all make diligent use of this space, and phooey if you don't! Looking forward to seeing the updates as they roll in! I had typed up a lengthy opening blog, but with a couple of ill-placed keystrokes blew it away into oblivion, and know not how to regain it. C'est la vie! I will attempt to post a couple of pictures, and figure the rest of this blog out! Cheerio, enjoy!... read more
