Ceilidh Trail - Nova Scotia 28 August We cannot believe we only have a bit more than a week to go before winging our way home after nearly 8 weeks. From time to time, Tom, Sheryl and I reflect on our experiences, what we have seen and the fantastic people we have spoken to. We have also eaten and sipped our way around Canada, sampling their local produce and wine and beer. Nova Scotia was no exception. We left Prince Edward Island across the 14km Confederation bridge, an engineering feet the Canadians are proud of. We wanted to hug the coast along the Arcadia Coastal Drive towards Pictou, rather than on the freeway, but we mixed it up on our way to Cape Breton Island, the eastern part of NS. So, we leave tomorrow. Yes, I'll have to get something for everyone (So much stuff!) I'd have prefered to post just before our flight, but tomorrow our internet get's disconnected and I'd rather post before we leave, just to see everyone off. Don't call me, lol, our phone is disconnected, too. Customs is going to suck, but thankfully the flight leaves at 11:30 at night. Sleep the jetlag off. - Antigonish, NSBrad and Treena On the road again. We spent 6 days and nights in Stephenville, exploring the wide range of food possibilities including, Mcdonald's, Timmy Ho's, Subway, and my favorite, Pizza Delight. We spent a lot of time sleeping, and laying around the hotel room trying to give Treena the best short recovery possible. Our first day on the bikes was a 30 km ride that turned out really well. We were cold and wet, and able to stop at a truckstop, instead of trying to sleep in a field somewhere, while Treena was still nursing her broken rib back to health. 2 days after that, was a major obstacle called Wrechouse Pass. It can be extremely dangerous, but was not too terrible on the day we passed. Still our windiest day, but ... read more
