Sitting on the train Taken a vow of silence. Haha. Just kidding. 07:32/06:32 The clocks have turned back one hour sometime in the middle of the night. 07:01 I’ve just been admiring the view outside the window. Yesterday there were scores of lovely trees with lots of lovely reds, oranges and yellows. Today there are lots of coniferous trees (sorry to say that I never did pay attention on how to decipher a fir from a pine from a??) and little lakes. A lot of the lakes were really still and it looked like glass with a bit of steam hovering. It's pretty cool. It's too bad I'm on a moving train because I'd love to take some pictures that weren't a big blur. Oh well. Another one of those moments I'll have to remember in ... read more

My world came shattering down as I learned the amount of fun it was possible to have at one time. It's hard to explain why this was the best weekend of my life. Maybe it was the amateur strip night at Club 3D, maybe it was the mind boggling array of amazing live music, maybe it was the 5am jam sessions in a castle, or maybe it was being at one with 10,000 dirty hippies. The heavens opened up, thunder and lightning began their dance and oceans of water came barreling down from above, as the 97' beige Mazda Protege rolled on. We spent most of our times at La Forche, or the Forks, where the Red River and Assiniboine River meet. On Sunday, professor Gary Hightshoe invited all of us who are Catholic (or whoever being interested in) attending a mass at the St. Boniface church. This church looks like a ruin from England, with just its facade standing up, with a big hole where the rose window used to be. Instead of tearing it down or rebuilding it, they built a smaller scale chapel inside the church, where all of the mass attendees gathered and celebrated the holy ceremony. The most unique thing about this mass is that it was in French. French sounds like Greek to me, I don't speak either language, so we just sat there, looking around the people and waited until they ... read more
