"The National - England" "Ugly Casanova - Corcovado" "The National - Slow Show" I have put a tremendous amount of research into my upcoming trip. I booked my ticket quite some time ago and have spent my time since trying to figure out two things. One, what am I going to do when I am there? Two, what the heck do I bring with me? So this entry is all about question number two! I decided to start my blogging career with this one because I reckon travelers with more experience than I can lend me a hand on what to bring! Those would-be backpackers that were/are as confused as I can use this blog for a bit of help! Where to start when packing for a trip to South America? I know NOT to pack ... read more

Cause there’s no road that aint a hard road to travel on... The first leg of the trip is complete! I spent two days on the TransCanada and I am now in sunny southern Manitoba. I am sitting at a picnic table in the baking hot sun beside my campervan (home), watching Moxie sleep in the shade and realized I should post an update. The road-trip out here was, to use my most favorite word, fantastic. We had blue skies across three provinces and my van travelled so smoothly both Mox and I thoroughly enjoyed the drive. So he planned to go back today, with the tracking number, to argue, if necessary, that there HAD been a delivery to them on our behalf. To make it a more “practical” excursion, we decided he should drop me off with the blue bike about 60 kilometres from the hotel, using highway 23, where during our drive to the motel on Saturday we’d seen a huge ... read more

To Morden & DQ via Highway 3 Sunday, 22 July 2007 There was apparently a heavy rainstorm last night, but I certainly didn’t hear it. The only indication by the time Panna & I went outside this morning was a huge puddle at one end of the parking lot which had not been there yesterday. It was so big that there was a solitary duck swimming & splashing in it. (But do you think Miss Panna was interested in it - no, she was looking for prairie dogs!) But even with the rain, it was already getting really warm & humid by the time we left for La Riviere, from where I planned to cycle towards the east into Morden. The only problem with that itinerary was a huge hill which I’d have had to climb ... read more
