Working now on a french keyboard and practised already a bit on e mails but it stays terrible with lots of letters on the for me wrong place;

First thing I did in Carcassonne last wednesday was buying stamps for my spanish postcards;Found the postoffice with 7 officers m/fm and a supervisor;
They worked extremely slow: every body took a ticket and had his number; There were 17 clients in front of me and it took 20 minutes to buy my stamps;
Also for french clients it took some times so long and even a number of people had to be helped by the supervisor for they were not able to explain their problem to the lower placed.

If you look at the operation it looks if the officers have the guarantee of a a lifetime job and that in that case time does not count.

Went to the citadel, another Unesco world heritage site;complete renovated in the 18th century. The citadel counts 52 towers and the complete wall all around;The best I have ever seen
A main tourist attraction with alot of souvenirsshops and restaurants: Perhaps a bit too crowded;

I lived in the opinion that more and more french people were able to communicate in english: Anyhow that s probably only in business life for here I ve sometimes more problems than in China

Dear Bert, What a real experience you had : how france people, organisations acting! I am almost daily in the circumstances to see, feel how business, administration and you name are going. And always wondering that such a "developed" country is acting the way it does. English come on that's what young people are learning on school. And well that's all there is. Exercise outside school?Now way! But what a nice country it is on the other hand. Take care Cees
