the beautifull , probably cathedral, in Marseille
I m in Ajaccio now but the location option of the blog is not working at the moment:

In Carcassonne I found, never seen before, an ATM that switched into dutch after reading thedutch card.
Walked down to the railwaystation. Took the 12;09 to Montpellier and changed there to the train to Marseille. Airco in that train was not working and temperature went up to mid 40 degrees.

The route Carcassonne/Montpellier is a beautiful part; after Montpellier it becomes a bit dull

my reserved place in the very crowded train was already occupied by a young lady who explained in 1 sentence of about three minutes , in french, what she was doing at my seat; I explained in3 dutch words what I thought about it and she left very fast: Looked if I was the alien;

Took a taxi to the ferry terminal for the ferry to Corsica and I think Marseille is worth a visit; Beautifull churches and a huge demonstration with a lot of police; Next time I better stay a day or two;

The huge ferry with 10 decks was really international: All announcements were done in fast french so that

they were sure only frenc could understand. Also the waiters refused to understand anything else untill I was peeling my kiwi with my swiss pockte knife and than all of a sudden he knew the word knife:

Slept in a big hall with comfort chairs; Only 20% of the space was occupied;

Arrived at Bastia around 7 o clock am and found with help of a sweet old lady the station not far from the north terminal. The stationmaster/ticketseller was so happy to seee an interrail card;It was in his Manual but never seen a real one: In corsica it does not mean free but 60% discount:

The ride of about 175 km with 33 stations to stop took about 4 hours: Arrived in Ajaccio 1 o clock in the afternoon:

reisverslag
