So. I'm packed. I'm ready. Its the deep breath before the plunge. Gonna just chill this evening now and enjoy the last night. Going to the pub with a few of the boys to have a quiet pint and look out over the home town before we head off into the distance in the morning. Everyone is saying goodbye and stay safe and all that and its great but tomorrow is the beginning. Me and Rob and the less trodden road. Peace out.... read more

So! Two weeks to go or just less to be exact and am absolutely bouncing off the walls as well as occasionally sh*ting my pants. I feel like i should be doing something but there is nothing really left to do. Got everything sort of planned. Passports came back today after being in the chinese embassy for over a month. Bit worried they were never coming back but there is a fairly snazzy chinese visa now on one of the pages! Going to get some of our planning videos up soon. Peace out.... read more

WEll, I can't remember all of what I have been up to since I last updated my blog but I will try to recall most of it! I went to a jazz festival night at a pub in Surrey with my friend Gabi. It was a really nice pub and the piano player played some amazing jazz type pieces, really made me miss playing the piano! I look forward to getting back into that for sure! The rest of the week is a bit of a blur, I had a bit of a lonely time but met up with a new aupair from Serbia who lives in St. Albans/ I haven't been there yet but we met in Potters Bar. The problem with these cute little towns is that nothing is open late except McDonald's. I ... read more

So its two weeks today we'll be jumping on a train and then jumping on a plane! Weird few weeks - passports were sent off last month to the Chinese Embassy fo our visa application to be processed... ...as yet, no sign of passports returning! The turnover time was supposed to be 3 days but apparently that was a load of cobblers so fingers crossed that my PP returns (as promised by STA Travel) tomorrow with a nice big visa stamp telling me its fine to hop over into China! Just finished printing off a load of hostel info so figured it would be a good time to log into the bloooog and do a quick update! Test pack is sorted and done, hostels booked, flights booked, accomodation elsewhere all but sorted and everything seems to ... read more

A hetvege igen jol sikerult: tesomekkal es barataikkal talalkoztam Cardiffban.

What a game! New Zealand certainly blew away any World Cup demons, with their stunning 29-9 victory over Wales at Millennium Stadium. After their shocking defeat to France at the same ground a year ago, the ABs had a lot to prove to loyal fans back in Cardiff, with hopes of a better result. And what a match it was! The atmosphere was electrifying and I'm not sure Eden Park will come even close to matching these facilities when we host the World Cup in 2011. We had a prime view from behind the goal line, and I tried my best to get close ups of the lads ladies ;) There was a sea of black in the crowd, and the town must have wondered what had hit after most Kiwis started drinking at 9am for ... read more

Driving into the city, we had heard that we could be visiting a city occupied by aliens. Rumor has it that the Welsh and the English don’t get along too well. We were curious to get a peak at these extraterrestrial folks. Grant had snatched us some sweet tickets to the Cardiff Blues (Wales capital) vs. the Leicester Tigers (England) Rugby match. This was my first non- OSU rugby match, but I knew I was equipped with enough knowledge to enjoy the game. The Leicester Tigers are CAT sponsored so Grant had a tough time deciding who (I realize gramatically speaking, whom is the correct word here, but I just couldn't do that) to root for, the home team or team CAT. Grant was a helpful fan clueing me in on any play I might of ... read more

SCARY Less than 9 weeks to go now until the Looong Goodbye! Terrifying and exciting, but here's the plan (for me anyway!) Fly to China - tour from Beijing to Shanghai and back again, which means Christmas in Shanghai! But no Doctor Who :( or family either I guess :P :( Beijing to Sydney in time for New Years! Then on to NZ for a two month tour of there! Then I'm off to the US for a Q&A about my activities in China and a tour of LANODCNYChicagoSeattleSanFranSanDiegoLA And finally end up with a mission trek across the Andes to Macchu Picchu in Peru :D Fingers crossed I don't eat too much in the States and end up a FATchu Picchu!!! Ho Ho... Peace Out for now xx... read more
