After weeks and weeks of planning, 10 arm numbing injections, hours of working and plenty of saving, the end is finally in sight. We set off on Monday evening, departing Edinburgh airport at 19:00, arriving at London City an hour later. Our connecting flight to St. Petersburg leaves the following morning at 09:20, so we will more than likely get a cheap hotel for the night rather than benching it at Heathrow. The flight to Russia takes around 3 hours, and taking into account the time difference, we are due to touch down at around 15:30. We have a hostel booked for arrival, so will make our way to it on the metro, which should be fun seen as the Russian language is difficult to master to put it lightly. On leaving the lovely town of Pitlochry , i headed back onto the main A9 traffic was a little quiter as i dropped onto an unamed road to Dunkeld .What a pretty town on the banks of the Tay , people were milling about in their finest togs for church , i sat on a bench by another of Telfords brodges and watched for 20 minutes .20 odd miles more I stopped for lunch in Perth city...very smart city this , food was nice but pricey , i left by crossing the river following signs for the south , but i royally f88ked up as i ended up at the motorway and had to retrace my path back into the city and sheepishly out on to the A912 through Bridge of Earn . Well, we have survived this year's T in the Park (just). Brilliant weekend, ace weather, top bands, funky vibes, ice cold cider, hell of a hangover. There were 70,000 people at this year's event - about 10,000 more than previous, and the site was laid out completely different than before. There were a couple of teething problems on the first day, in that the site gates did not open till 12:10 (ten mins late) but that was enough to create a queue backlog of an hour and a half. The waiting crowd were fairly relaxed, but the day was so hot that it meant as soon as folk got inside the venue they headed straight for the beer token stalls / bars (more hanging around - not good).
