Where is the Castle

After a great week down in Somerset with Cousin Bev, Mum
headed back up to London on the train which was a little difficult saying see
you at the other end. This parting was
sweetened by the arrival of Dave Collet who is a serial traveller who we
coupled up with during our Africa Overland adventure.

Our time in Somerset was partially spent by the vein search
for a gas cylinder that would suit our Australian Cooker… the search was to no
avail and realised we would need to purchase a whole new system…. hence once we
collected Dave we went in search for a cooker.

It's a strange thing meeting up with someone you have
previously spent significant time and experiences with… even stranger it was
like we had never parted company.. Okay so to wrap thing on the cooker front up
it went like this…. Walk from shop to shop…. Nothing… then found an Argos which
had a big catalogue of stuff… selected the one we wanted and it was available
down the road… so off we go and bugger me if we found the warehouse Argos and then
a cooker appeared.



Dash back to the car and then drove off towards
Dover. We got as far as Pevensey Bay (spelt something like that) and after some
interesting driving antics settled on a site called Castle View… went into the
office and a scruffy chap greeted me with a pained smile paid 20 GDP. Keen to
see the castle we asked why we could not see the Castle… apparently you could
see it some 43 year ago and now it had sunk or the trees had grown unsure which
but he had not got around to changing the business name. Regardless we set camp
then headed off in the direction of the said castle and bugger me there it was.
Old Roman walls with cool bits everywhere.. having worked up an appetite we
then walked into town for a feed of Fish & Chips… excellent.
