Having bought some of the produce from our France Passion spot on Saturday night, first job Sunday morning was to go into the nearby town of Montivilliers to find a cash machine so we could pay for it! Mission accomplished, and honour satisfied, we set off to LeHavre. Not only have we never used this port before, we couldn't remember ever visiting it either! Being a Sunday, it was fairly easy to drive into the centre since most businesses were closed. Parking, too, was no problem, in the big park-like square in front of the Hotel de Ville. Wandering off, we found another square where a bar was open, and a stall selling (among other things) paninis. So that was lunch sorted. We arrived at the Lighthouse Guesthouse, Tytherington after a quite stressful journey- the road map and Sat Nav having conflicting views. Mum trusted the Road Map; Dad the Sat Nav. I was glad when we finally drove into a gravel courtyard with a Barn converted guesthouse surrounding it. We received a warm welcome and a quick tour around, even though it was getting on for half past eight. Our room was quite basic but clean and comfortable. The whole place had a peaceful vibe, herb teas and decaf coffee on the tea tray in the room. Reading the info booklet, we discovered that all the food was gluten and diary free. so today I ran the Longleat 10 k in just a couple of seconds over an hour ..not bad for me , I am grateful to the organising team at 2:09 Events , in particular Mike Gratton for some decent freebies owards my trip , stacks of gels /bars and some technical ts ...respect Mike. So here we are on the last night in england for 4 weeks! just had a delicious roast dinner cooked by dad with disgusting gravy but chloe, being the genious that she is salviged it :) today has been stressful to say the least... thanks to the eldest two members of the family but were all more or less packed now so its all good :P chloe xx Dad here, Actually we were only slightly stressy, mostly caused by Chloe and Ruby being in slow motion (and blind as well) when it comes to getting packed and ready. Geo: 51.2288, -2.32283Well a trip to the UK would not be complete without a visit to my birth place. Yes I am a pom!! Darren and I managed to guide the Shorty to a tiny village called Trudoxhill near Frome where Cousin Bev, better known as CB lives. CB had provided directions however it was getting dark, wet and cold and we were a bit skeptical when we turned into one of those tiny country lanes, hedges on both sides and Darren made the comment "Crap where are we going now".
