LONDON AGAIN
Coming back to London on a lovely sunny afternoon via train into Liverpool Street we got to watch the world go by, Sometimes there is nothing quite as beautiful as the English countryside. We hop on the tube and are soon walking back down the hill to our Barnet home at Liam’s parents house.
We receive a warm welcome and a hearty roast before settling in for a relax in front of the TV and CSI, a perfect Sunday. Monday Liam went to visit work to let them know that we were leaving for Cornwall on Tuesday evening and to get an update re the returning to work situation. Unfortunately he was advised that although they had tried every trick in the book there was not a position to come back to. In the fashion of ‘Don’t let the buggers get you down’ we headed out to meet Ben (best friend) in the Griffin for a touch of drinking.
The plan was to have a couple and then head back for dinner before going out to ‘The Prince of Wales’ to meet up with Jim and Vicki! But the day decided to go all wrong. Liam left to meet up with Ben and Charlotte had to stay in for the washing machine to stop before heading down. At least the boy’s had a bit of alone time! By the time Charlotte got there it was really time to head back for dinner, but we had a couple more drinks and a plate of Nacho’s. Before we knew it, it was time to meet up with Jim & Vicki, but Liam’s parents wanted to see us before we left, so Charlotte went on and met up with Jim & Vicki and Liam went home to do the goodbyes, as it was going to be quiet a while before they got to see him again!
Eventually Liam met up with the rest of us, by this time we were a little worse for wear and dying for a little something to eat! We had a good laugh with Jim and Vicki and Jim told us he had got a new car, so Charlotte spent the next hour telling him he should have gone for a nice little sporty number, not a MPV! Well later he text to say that he had misrepresented his car and it was actually more of a jeep, which Charlotte decided was more suitable, though she still secretly thinks he should have to a shiny red Porsche!!
Up early with slightly fuzzy heads and it was time to repack all of our bag’s with everything we thought we may need in Cornwall over the summer. We managed to fit everything into our two backpacks and a wheelie bag, with the two little backpacks attached onto the big ones, also a big handbag and a box for the Wii fit board. We just preyed that they would let us on with all of the bag’s as it does say that you are only allowed one bag of 20kg’s each.
We left for Victoria coach station in plenty of time and all of our bag’s. Arriving at Victoria we went to Marks & Spencer’s for a treat for dinner and picked up a couple of large bottle’s of Orange juice, a couple of sandwiches and a couple of bag’s of crisps. Whilst Liam was grabbing the food, Charlotte stood outside with the bags. A tiny old Chinese woman came past and started hitting Charlotte with her shopping bag and talking in Chinese! Very strange, Charlotte just shooed her on!
Going around the corner Liam believed that the coach station was just at the rear of the railway station and was quite surprised to find it was a bit of a walk! Charlotte just smiled smugly! On arriving at Victoria Coach Station we looked at the departure board and found our gate. We went over and were soon on a very modern bus with all of our luggage stored below (and no little boy’s to rifle through them!).
