My eyes tend to take a while to wake up in the morning and my brain is certainly foggy until I jump into an invigorating shower. Both brain and eyes were struggling to make sense of what I saw out my window this morning - someone painted our neighbour's roof white overnight! What kind of prankster would do such a thing? No...the grass is white too....and the trees and everything - IT SNOWED! (She exclaimed, dancing around the flat.) Everyone told me that it snows in London only once in a blue moon, but blue moons should come around more often. The streets near our house were transformed. It was extremely pretty walking to the tube station, albeit a little more hazardous given the ice and snow all over the footpaths. Forget the inconvenience and delays, ... read more

Matt: Just a quick note to say thank you for all the birthday cards, phone calls, emails, SMS and packs of Tim Tams. It’s good to know that despite being 17,000 kms away and not being able to drop casual hints, it wasn’t forgotten! I ended having an awesome day. It all started the morning before when I was in the shower and heard the doorbell ring. After a few minutes, Ed told me to come out because the first part of my present had been delivered. He added that I should put something on before I came to look. Now I have always considered myself an expert at working out surprise presents. As a kid, I remember sitting under the family Christmas tree in the weeks before the big day, carefully examining the size, weight ... read more

Palms have been squeezed, boxes have been packed, cheeks have been pressed, boxes have been unpacked, babies have been kissed, boxes have been repacked and cocktails have been drunk. Some photo records exist, but fortunately none from Friday. Or at least as far as I know.. I guess it's goodbye to the old and farewell to the new. Still no time to be exited though. More excited at the thought of sleep. Sometime someplace, or is that Martini? However there'll be none of that where I'm going as Tamil Nadu is a dry place. Thanks to Kalpana's coaching I've learned Hello - Vanakkam and Thankyou - Nandri. I reckon that's a start, though intensive Tamil lessons might have to follow if my host can bear to hear me barbarising their language. ... read more

..................But first day of freedom! Can't belive there's so much to do to prepare for travelling! been running my arse off over the last 2 days trying to get everything sorted. I thought 5 weeks would be plenty, but gonna be cutting it fine! Bank accounts, flat, bills, selling car, DIY in house, Doctors, Dentist, travel ticket, and a million other things that pop up along the way, like having my car broken in to! The b******s were after my Tomtom thinking I keep it in the glove compartment, but fortunately it was in the house. As for my travel ticket, I went into Trailfinders to be dealt with by a spotty YTS trainee called Rob. When Rob opened up his file, and gulped, as soon as I mentioned "round the world ticket" I knew I'd ... read more

1.) Live Play of Clockwork Orange in th east of London (Catwork) How civilized to be able to drink beer while watching a play. I almost orgasmed when at the first of the play the lead characters, three 20 something year old men were in the buff. 'Alex' was played by the brittish twin of my ex, with the sexy ass british accent to match. Met a chick from the play on the train platform after. 2.) My visit to Emerson College. Magical! Anthroposophical college, and Waldorf teacher training. beautiful studios, biodynamic farming, students from all over, only vegetarian food, beautiful gardens, fire places in the dorms, outdoor bread oven....-if I could've imagined the ultimate College, this would be it! Located in Forrest Row, in the country near Sussex. 3.) Galleries Ga-fuckin' lore Guy! I could ... read more

So its the jewish year anew today, Shana Tovah! Rosh Hashanah, "Head of the Year" in Hebrew, has led Mellers and myself to the world famous Kaballah centre in London. A 5 hour ceremony was held, and by god my dogs are barking. The service was a mix of orthodox style praying (purely in Hebrew at 500 words-per-minute) and some newage Kaballistic ideology, where talks about energies, and accepting light into our lives, and how not to "short-circuit" in our daily lives pushed the energy higher and higher. Many of the themes were moving, as they helped calm the soul, allow me to meditate in silence, and rid myself of bad energies. So, I can go on with my life in a healthy manner. Also, Madonna was in attendance, as was Guy Ritchie who I sat ... read more
