As usual, ages without any writing, came on here as I've been yet again bitten by the travel bug and just came back from Rome. Have a whole report on the trip, but thought I'd write about my London life a bit as so much has changed since I last wrote almost a year ago. So I came back from home #1 determined to find a new place to live and was thinking about Camden Town, where I used to be all the time and would be a nice change as, for my non-Londoner friends, it's in North London and I had always lived in the SW. I'd had this particular friend for quite a while, pretty much since I moved to the UK, and, the day after I came back from Brazil, he texted me ... read more

Hey everybody! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas! The past 10 days have gone so quickly but I've had a great time. Friday last week I went to Hampton Court Palace near Hampstead to go skating with Marc, Emma, Asha, Rachel and Richard (USA), Megan and Matty. Marc is Hannah's flatmate and he invited me along. Emma is Hannah's sister, Asha is her daughter and the other two M's go to the same church. The ice skating was fun but really slippery with quite a bit of water to wade through, no use of a zamboni. Just a couple guys using shovels to scrape off some of the water between sessions! It was funny to watch until someone got out there and hit the ice face first with some damage to his face, yikes. Anyhow, ... read more

Well kiddies, For the last couple of days I've found myself in London at the mercy of 'Queen Lizzie' ... praise be to Jeebus I finally validated my God forsaken visa ! After being delayed out of Oz, I ensured that I asked the Customs lass at Gatwick at least half a dozen times whether or not a single stamp in the middle of my forehead (on my visa photo of course !) was sufficient to validate ... and just in case she was wrong, I also queried the lass at the medical post ... talk about 'Paranoid Anadroid' ! But can ya blame me ? So the lovely Laura served as my host for four days of crazy fun fun fun. Laura has a nice little house in suburb called Golders Green and as she ... read more

The night before the big trip...aaah im scared! So people, I have finally taken the plunge and made the leap into the big unknown that is travelling (well for me at least!) Right now I am bloody petrified, but in the knowledge that many fantastic and exciting things are ahead of me - well, at least once Ive got over the hurdle of an 18 hour journey! As you can see from my blog name, I've decided to make my blog hat themed. It wont be the main theme, it will just be a little added extra. Basically I love hats, so I thought that perhaps I might make it my mission to see what weird and wonderful hats I can find along the way....look out for the pics throughout my journey. Thats it for ... read more

Another cold clear day in London as my brother and I undertook our latest adventure in London. The destination was Hampstead and its adjoining Heath. We caught the tube from Borough Station directly to Hampstead. Hampstead is located about 6km north-west of Charing Cross. It is part of the London Borough of Camden. It is also home to some of the most expensive housing in the London area with large houses regularly listed for sale at over twenty million pounds sterling (about AUS$50 million ). Apparently the village of Hampstead has more millionaires within its boundaries than any other area of Britain. It is also the hub of intellectual, artistic, musical and literary life. Using Paul's London City Walks card we followed the directions of its map from Hampstead High Street to the Heath. We passed ... read more

Only 3 more days until we head for home. Right now im just relaxing in the hostel in london, with barely any money haha, so that leaves me with nothing to do!.. London was awesome to see but not my favorite place to be. Jen and i decided to explore on our own, so we hopped on a bus (double decker!) and rode around the city.. I love people watching!. We stopped at Buckingham palace and watched the changing of the guard. We then took a walk through Princess Dianas park. later that night a bunch of us went to Hard Rock Cafe for dinner. One experience i will never forget in London was when we got off the underground, made our way out to the street, Looked up and BIG BEN was there all lit ... read more

So we have finally arrived in London! 5 hour train ride and then the subway, and then another train.. once again, very tiring. Well i can honestly say this trip has been great.
