That's the message we hear almost every time we get on the Tube to go in to town! Today is our last day in London for the time being, we are leaving for Paris in the morning on the first day of our Grand European tour! Very exciting! We thought you might like to have a look at some of the things we have been up to in our travels, more news will follow as it happens. Claire would like to tell everyone that she was right royally cheesed off this morning when some rude soul went in to the laundry just after her, removed our load of wet washing from the dryer and replaced it with his own, taking full advantage of our dryer token which had already been inserted. After sitting around waiting ... read more

Where to start...after four days in LA we flew to London on Wednesday 4th April, arriving very tired but glad to finally be in Europe to get on with our trip. But first, as we haven't updated our blog for a while, here's the rundown on what we got up to in LA... First and foremost, we acted like big kids and went to Disneyland! We even got our photo taken with Mickey Mouse and went on all of the rides (Sarah had to hold onto Claire's hand in the Pirates of the Caribbean ride) - which wasn't even scary! It was nice and warm, just wearing shorts and t-shirts, we had Vegemite and crackers for lunch and went on the Buzz Lightyear ride 3 times! Had lots of fun and slept very well that ... read more

Yer its still bloody cold in London & I’m still bustin the boardies n pluggers (you’d be proud dad!) First night stayed with the b.g’s & went round sampling some of Hammersmiths finest pubs. The next day was a nice sunny 1, athoungh still chilly. So I checked out London bridge, a walk along the thames river to big ben & Parliament house. That nite I was havin a beer with ned & rich & catchin up with amy in a local pub & we noticed that it was starting to get rammed. So I inquired what was goin on & it turned out that wolfmother (aussie band ) where playin next door at the apollo. So we waited till 9 & went and got some half priced scalpa tix (10 quid tix, nice one) ! ... read more

Hi all, So, its the final day, literally, we fly out at 7pm tonight. So I thought you might all want to know what we've been doing for the last week. Last time I wrote, we were in Cambridge on our first night. So, the following morning (monday 4th Dec for those of you following at home), we did the usual morning routine, breakfast and headed out to see the sights of Cambridge. We headed straight for Kings College Chapel again, although this time we actually went inside. Its absolutely gorgeous, and we really enjoyed it. It has amazing accoustics, so it would have been awesome to hear them sing there, but it wasn't meant to be. The vaulted ceiling is huge, and the stained glass was beautiful. There is lots on information about the history ... read more

Hi all, Ok, will try to keep this one brief after last entries mamoth effort. I was up to Brussells. Spent the friday (Chez went to work) walking around the shops and speaking to my parents. It was actually really nice to have no plans for the day. And of course nice to speak to my parents whom I hadn't really talked properly to for about a month. Chez got back at about 5pm, so we grabbed our stuff, and headed for the train station. We had bought tickets on the previous day, so knew we could just jump on any train that was heading to Rotterdam, our next stop, in the Netherlands. We arrived there about 6.30pm (from memory), met Chez's friends Suus and Ellen, had dinner (nice to have a home cooked meal from ... read more

Hi All, This is just a very quick update on our lives in London at the moment. Well.... we found a place to live.... HOORAY HOORAY!!!! We will be living in Hammersmith, approximately 10 minutes walk from the Hammersmith tube and about 15 minutes walk from Dean's place (where we are staying at the moment). We move into our place on Tuesday 31st October, 2006 (the day before my birthday). Our new home is a 4 bedroom flat with 2 bathrooms (one on each floor), lounge room with glass doors opening out into a back patio with BBQ, kitchen etc. It also has a fold out bed for anyone that would like to come over and stay for a bit (wink wink!!!). We are both soooo excited. It will be great to finally unpack all of ... read more

Well - as most of you know by now, Brian and I had arrived safely in London. The flight from Singapore to Dubai seemed to go fast (7 hour flight), but this is probably because we were extremely tired and slept nearly the whole leg. Again, the flight was fairly empty and because we checked in early at Changi Airport, Singapore, Emirates placed us on a flight to Dubai, 1 hour earlier than previously booked (flight left at 2:10am instead of 3.00am - great huh). But because there were a lot of late comers on the plane, the flight left approx 30 mins later than expected. When we landed in Dubai, we had approx 2 hours to look around the airport. This time actually went very fast. By the time we had a cup of coffee ... read more

After two weeks away in Europe with Mum and Liani visiting her family in South Africa, and one week in a small below ground studio in Wilsden Green, we finally moved in to our new flat in Hammersmith! Initially when I first saw this place I wasn't at all taken by it. There was way too much green carpet for my liking and I thought it felt small. Ummm, dont really know who that person was, because I now love our flat! The day we moved in the removalists bought all our boxes and Luke and Carmel arrived from their two month European trip on their way the next day back home to Aus! It was quiet hectic to say the least. We unpacked as much as we could and enjoyed our last family meal before ... read more
