Well, finally booked the flight that will start off the whole expedition! Booked through Zoom!Airlines (yeah...I know...) for a mere £300 (because I upgraded to Premium otherwise it would have been cheaper); a one way flight from Manchester to Toronto on Monday 3rd November 2008. Then I also booked into the Global Village Backpackers Hostel in Toronto for four nights! It's made me all excited because now I know I'm actually going through with it. And all on my lonelio too so if anyone will be around travelling when I am let me know because I'll be in need of some company! ONLY 10 DAYS TO GO The last few weeks has flown bye, i knew it would when we reached the month mark. I remember from last time thinking, when we had a few weeks to go, how quickly it would be until we were on our way and thinking back to that moment. Now its only 10days and i know the next second i'll be at the airport with Jen and we'll realise its arrived! 7months....i cant decide if it seems a long time since we got back or just a flash- with the apprehension i'm feeling about going, at the mo it seems like a while. 6 MONTHS DOWN 3 WEEKS TO GO! Only 3 weeks to the day until we head off for 4 months around Indonesia and the Philippines. Been working really hard to get this far, and to be honest its been pretty hellish at times! But its all gonna be worthwhile when were on the bus to the airport with our backpacks, and that feeling of anticipation in the pit of your stomach. SOOOO excited!!! So I am off for 'phase3' of my travelling adventure (first being 1 month in India, then second was 3 months in Indonesia), back with my all time favourite travel partner Jen, also my bezzie mate, and a wonderful participant for a month-my other favouritest person in the world Cat! ... read more

18th - 20th March TEAM ONE was in Buxton on our practice expedition. With hurricane like winds and torrential rain, it was a barrel of laughs putting up tents and such like but we learnt pretty quickly. On Friday we learnt how to use the gas cookers, and we walked for about 2 minutes to our campsite. Half of us put up tents and the other half cooked. For dinner we had gloopy spagetti (which is good, because I prefer it that way) and cheese and ham and tomato puree and curry sauce and salt and butter. Most people chose a couple of things but I just mixed it all together :).
