another day in leon

so we were suppose to leave this morning at like 5:45...but of course us being wisiackas women we somehow lost an hour, i don´t knwo long story, anyway the train we were suppose to be on at 6 left without us.

so, we´re in leon for another day.

this is what we did yesterday:
1. walked around town, found a cute cheap place near the entrance to the city. saw lots and lots of shoes, my shoe obsession is getting stronger here i can tell.
2. watched some guys play a game...ok theres 9 pins in 3 rows of 3 evenly spaced, each guy has 2 chances to throw this wooden thing that looks like a solid sphere cut in half at the pins. the object (i think) is to knock the pins down. all men were playing, and all men were watching, must be a boys club thing here.
3. had dinner at a matador restaurant. switched places with mom cause she didn´t like seeing the bulls getting killed during dinner. i was starving, and we had the customary huge spanish meail. i had a whole plateful of spagatti, 3 peices of bread, and then the second course which was potatoes and 3 peices of chicken. i think the beers made me hungry. was dissapointed i didn´t see anyone get gored.

this morning :
1. walked to the market after finally finding a cafe that was open, everything here open so late on saturdays which we forgot.
2. walked around the marekt which smelled so good, and saw al these callas lillies that were perfect.
walked back to the cathedral to admire it.

anyway, we are gonna spoend tonight in vigo when we finally get ther, one day lost traveling but oh well, these things happen...next stop portugal!!!

this church had awesome carvings of hell and purgatory all over it...it was kept very dark inside to see the stained glass.

market we went to this morning. saw bunnies here for sale (for someone dinner of course)...petted them and hope they had a painless death
