On the road by 8am after breakfast ...we ate in a restaurant...had a coffee and a croissant....then bought some bread for lunch......the delivery truck came and put some trays of pastries on the counter....I happen to knock one of the pastries on to the floor ….no one saw me....2sec rule counts ..I put it back....
The weather was beautiful possibly the best day yet...for the first time I have started walking without my jacket or raincoat...they are packed in my backpack.....Met the Irish and Texan's and walked off and on with them for the day.
Spent most of the day walking through the gum trees again...the last 60km into Santiago there are a lot....they have planted gum and pine forests and there are gum trees haveset seed and are growing everywhere through their natural trees as well.
We stopped for lunch and sat in a forest and had a chip sandwich yoghurt and banana and let the multitudes pass...they seem to go in groups....
Apart from all the extra people on the walk today it was such a lovely day …sun shining ...no rain...no jackets.....always in the back of our minds to is that tomorrow is the
last day of walking.....
We arrived at Arca O Pino at about 2pm and found the same thing ….every alburgue had been prebooked or full...so we walked around town and finally found a private pension (pronounces penseeon)....It was a three story home and we were put on the second floor...there were no kitchen or machines to use....but there was a clothes line out side our room on a large balcony......Jacqui was having a shower when I heard someone else being shown to a room ...I warned Jacqui to lock the door ….found out it was James and Ange....a lovely surprise.....
We did a bit of hand washing and had to climb out the window to hang it on the line.....took some photos out the window then went for a walk
Saw some cows walking down the street as people were going to church.....found a internet cafe had a coffee and Jacqui spent some time on the computer looking for flights out of Santiago back to London.....
Spoke to Dwayne ...everything is all good Jules parents are looking after her and she is due for a C section on the 22
nd....I was pretty excited as I was
going to see bump before I go home....sad not to be there as I will be on my cruise when she is born …..she will be about 5 days old....how good is that......
We met the Texan's for tea and had a hamburger and vinto blanco (white wine) something different talked about the last few days and tomorrow...we are all feeling a bit emotional.....
We walked home...even the weather was still pleasant ...normally it is pretty cold in the evening...finally the weather turns for the better one day out of finishing.....
We got the washing of the line and went to bed thinking about tomorrow
