¡Comer!¡Comer!¡Comer!

This is the restaurant that Pethiba and I ate at.
I started the day just like yesterday, got up…got ready….took the Metro to “Opera”…went to school. Class was pretty boring today, we just repeated what we went over yesterday. But after class, we had our first meeting with the man from Adelante…now I’m worried! I couldn’t understand a word he said. He told us that we will be having interviews with whomever our internships are with. He said that technically they can still say ‘no’! That’s NOT good. He made it seem like they will be expecting very good Spanish skills in the interview. I mean, this thing is really serious. I have to dress up, know and rehearse what I’m going to say, and have a “mock interview” with him later this week…gosh…I thought I was over this sick feeling! UGH. I hate being so nervous…and knowing that I’m just going to do horrible. But after the meeting, I went with Pethriba to find somewhere to eat lunch. After walking around a bit we found a place that looked nice and had decent prices. I ordered pasta salad, Spanish tortilla (which is like an omlet) with French fries, ice cream, and coffee. It was really good. After that, I

went and got myself a new Spanish phone! And for anybody that wants to call me, my number is + 34 - 689 - 115 - 565. (if you dial the + sign, you won’t have to dial any of the other international codes or anything…just dial just as I have typed it here!! - Mom and Dad, you can type that exact number w/ the + sign using Skype! Just FYI!)
Anyway, so then we went to her apartment in hopes of getting some internet…no luck. So we went back to school to use their computers. I got to see and talk to Ray which was really nice. I miss him so much. Later (around 8pm) I just started walking around all the streets near Puerto de Sol. I found some really great shops and now I have some ideas of some things I want to buy. Plus, this area is SO MUCH COOLER AT NIGHT. I couldn’t believe how different it was. I was starting to get really disappointed with Madrid…but it showed why it’s famous tonight. It was really neat. There were outdoor restaurants everywhere! And the food was much cheaper! There were men playing classical

guitars, flamenco dancers, a man playing crystal wine glasses (like in Miss Congeniality). Yeah, I was definitely impressed! Then, I had heard that Starbucks had free internet, so I went in, but…nope….apparently they don’t. So I just went home, talked with Jasmine, took a shower, did my homework, and now, I’m about to go to bed. Oh, and my throat is really sore right now…Jasmine has been sick…I hope I didn’t catch anything from her! I think it’s from all the smoke! EVERYONE smokes here…it’s so gross. But especially tonight…I guess because of all the outdoor restaurants. Anyway, Buenos noches!
