Alex eating biscuits...
....AFTER he ate a whole box of donuts (the packet's still on the table)!! Sunday 27 April 2008 Lazy day today - didn't even do an exercise video, because I just can't be arsed! Ate lots though, so that's good...
Monday 28 April 2008 Had a lie in because I only have one lesson this week and that's tomorrow. Had a revision lesson for the grammar exam tomorrow - my group beat Alex's group, even with his extra bonus point for their team name! HA - he wasn't pleased.
Tuesday 29 April 2008 Least preparation I've put into a lesson and it seemed to go ok, which goes to show that I'm just a natural :-p
Grammar exam was harder than I thought, but as the pass mark's only 50%!,(MISSING) I know FOR A FACT that everyone's passed! You'd have to be a real idiot not to...
Wednesday 30 April 2008 Had to go in a bit earlier today, which meant I had to buy lunch. Ended up going to the baguette place we checked out last time when we traipsed around the area for 30 mins before finding a decent lunch provider.
Took in my camera to take a class photo, but one of the people was being super lame and

This is after I told him to smile for the camera didn't want to take it, so I ended up packing away my stuff - wish I hadn't bothered in the first place!
End of course drinks at a place called Wembley bar, which made me think it'd be filled with Asians, but it wasn't. Decent place tho - very different because it's bright and airy (ie not smoky) and Alex enjoyed the big screen that showed the footie match. Usually a bar would turn on the lights to get people out, but this place turned them off. So after we got booted out of Wembley, we headed to the jazz bar with 4 other guys, coz it's chilled and cheap. But then we got booted out of there at 3am, so we tried to get drinks at another bar down the road, but they said they were closing in 5 mins. So Mike just walked into some restaurant that was playing music, and we all waited outside to see how long it would take before he got kicked out. But he didn't, so we joined him inside and partied with some Spaniards. It was only much later that we realised it was a private party, so I wrote a couple

This was the best I could get... of messages for the birthday girl (or newlyweds, or leaving people - didn't actually figure out what the party was for), because there was a notice board thing at the front that everyone was writing messages on. I got given 2 roses - TWO!! But one got eaten by Mike and the other Alex managed to lose - I only handed it to him for a few seconds! But then we decided to leave and get some churros - I got fries, yum! And we spent a while listening to Mike chat shit about the Swedish amateur boxing champion of the world, and how one of the tutors doesn't know what a defining clause is....
Thursday 1 May 2008 Muchos muchos sleepage today!! Got up at around 12:40 because I was soooo hungry, and made myself an egg sarnie - closest I could get to a fry up. Had a cup of mint tea, started watching TV, then fell asleep until 5ish. Woke up and had a salad with goat's cheese for the first time - yummy!! Want to go out for dinner, but not sure if restaurants'll be open, because it's bank holiday...
Got an email from my
The cool TEFL people
As the class photo was ruined, figured I might as well get some of the guys. Unfortunately Kylie and Alex have a tendency to be idiotic when they're awake, so it kinda ruined the photo... mum with a letter from NPower saying I hadn't paid a bill and I should call them to pay it or they'll send the bailiffs round. So I emailed NPower to say I think THEY owe ME money, see how they like them apples!
Friday 2 May 2008 Last day of the course and I have to go in for an interview with the moderator about the materials assignment. It's an old lady from England called Mary Williams and she's a bit weird, but I managed to make her laugh at the end, so even if I didn't do very well in the interview, at least I brightened up her day with my wit :-)
Alex's dad arrived for the weekend, so met up with him for dindins at a sushi restaurant which turned out to be baaaaaaad value for money, because 1) it wasn't cheap, and 2) it was rubbish! And they weren't very friendly there either. And the seats weren't comfortable. So all in all not a good dining experience. None of the food arrived hot, and the tempura wasn't even tempura!!! It was just battered - nice try amigos but you can't fool me! We ended up going to the pool hall, which I found out is called HDP, which stands for hijo de puto, which means son of a bitch. Got a couple of people from Oxford House down and then headed to the jazz bar after for a few drinkies.
Saturday 3 May 2008 Paella for lunch with the Defries family, but this time we went to the crazy crab, which I'd never been to before. Apparently more expensive than the usual place yet not as nice, but it was very enjoyable for me. Although I hadn't eaten breakfast so maybe it wasn't actually as good as I thought. But who knows...
Checked out G's hotel room, which is very nice! But Alex didn't feel like going to check out the terrace, so we stayed in the room (?!) for a bit, then walked back home. Ended up going to a nice place for dinner where I had capriccio de buey (sliced beef), which was yum! And it wasn't too expensive, so we might go back there to check it out again.
G came back to our's where we watched what Alex described as an awesome film with Ray Winstone and Danny Dyer - The Business. We soon realised that in actual fact Alex had been thinking about Sexy Beast all along, but the film was good anyway. Once G left, we watched Beowulf, which Alex didn't like but I thought was pretty good. Although it was crap quality - looked like someone filmed it in a cinema. Oh well.
