On Friday we took our final excursion: to Toledo. Toledo is the most beautiful city that I have seen in all of Spain. It is nestled up on a hill surrounded by a river. We left Segovia after our final class and went to the city in the afternoon.

In the afternoon we had free time to do whatever we wanted to do after we were shown around the city. I decided to go with a couple friends and the professors to a cathedral and Synagogue. The coolest part about this was the Cathedral had been converted into a bar and a club. However all of the decorations and lighting was free standing so that if need be the entire building could be converted back to its original state.

The synagogue was one of the best-preserved buildings that I had thus far seen. The Opening area was absolutely massive and had ornately decorated walls. The entire thing was also dedicated to the history of Jews in Spain, something that was greatly overshadowed by the Christians.

We then took a look at the old aqueduct of Toledo, which was completely underground, and three times bigger than that of the aqueduct in Segovia. The actual museum for it was the bottom floor of one of the buildings. It hits you that the buildings are all the same. For hundreds of years these people have lived in the same buildings. It is a goldmine of artifacts. I could not believe it all. The city has to be the coolest of al that I saw.

That night we had a great dinner and the rest is history. This one is short and I apologize but there is more for tomorrow…
