Sevilla was one of our favourite places, so it was too bad we only had one night there. As I said we had travelled here with two friends from Granada; they were in one hostel and we were in a different one just around the corner. The first day we went to the Alcazar, which was yet again another big fortress and palace, with both Islamic and Christian Architecture. Apparently it is also where the King and Queen of Spain stay when they visit Sevilla. My favourite part was the gardens, because they were like 4 times as large as the buildings, and you could wander for hours in them. It also had a labryinth maze made of bushes, but we didnt go too far in because we didn't have time to get lost. which sucked. That night we met up with a few people and had dinner on the river, which was gorgeous, and then went out to an Irish bar. I dont really have much to say on Sevilla in terms and sights and specific events, but i guess it was one of our most memorable times because we just had so many laughs that night.

The next morning we got up early and met people to go to the Cathedral. It is the 3rd largest cathedral in Europe, and it looked just gorgeous from the outside. Unfortunately it was closed for some special event so we didnt get to go in. At first, Kev and I were quite bummed out about this, but as we were walking away towards our hostel we saw a group of ceremonial guards marching to drums. So we followed them, and they went right into the cathedral, and so we just followed them in and ended up getting to see part of the cathedral. So that was a stroke of luck. We are still not sure what the guards were doing. Inside, they did some sort of ceremonial thing and then went up to the top of the moorish tower. Shortly afterwards we caught a bus to Lagos, Portugal, and that was the end of Sevilla. Oh by the way, the title of this entry refers to a hilarious English translation of a dish in of the menus.
