The main beach at Malaga
Today was a down day, with nothing much to do. Manoli had looked over the map to see what might be interesting. We left the pension around 11am or so, and headed to the beach. It was a fairly long walk, but pretty interesting too. We arrived at Malagueta Beach, one of the main beaches in Malaga, and after a short walk along the beach, Manoli spotted the Chiringuito Sicsu Bar. She had heard it served pretty good food, so we stopped. Pretty much every table was outside, but covered with awnings to keep off the sun. Also, since they had the area cordoned off, we had to wait in line for a few minutes to get a table. We sat down, looked over the menu, and ordered our lunch. Manoli decided to try their seafood paella and I ordered fried shrimp, with a Coke of course. While we waited for our meal, we noticed that at one end of the bar, they were grilling sardines and a few larger fish. Apparently they were well-known for their grilled sardines. After we ate lunch, we wandered further down the beach, then headed towards a garden that Manoli had read about, stopping along

the way at the Malaga Cathedral.

I sat down at a nearby bar for a cafe con leche, while she went to check on the cathedral. She came back after a while and told me there was quite a line, plus contrary to what she'd read, it was 7 Euros to get in. I told her if she wanted to see it, it was probably worth 7 Euros, so she returned to the line. Quite a while later, she came out and we continued to the garden. When we reached to river, Manoli looked at her map and told me it was up that way, but she wasn't sure how far. We asked a local and she told us it was quite a ways, but we could take a bus to it, so, we got on the next bus and rode up to it. Good thing we took the bus, cause it was quite a long ride, and when we got off, we still had a good long walk.

The Jardín Botánico Histórico La Concepción was quite large, and very beautiful. Today the entry fee was free, so that made it even better. They have a souvenir shop

The Chiringuito Bar where we at lunch
and a cafeteria, but we were interested in the plants and flowers. There weren't that many flowers, except for large bushes and trees, but it was laid out nice and very enjoyable. After a while, we decided to return to the pension, via the Plaza de la Merced. We also stopped, as usual, at the Supermarket Dias for some dinner.
