Castle
And yet another castle in Europe, this one in Bratislava. Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. The appearance, meh not so good... it appeared more communist looking than any other city we have visited with almost every apartment building looking the same as each other with a very flat and square appearance. On our first night here being Saturday, we headed out to find a good place to have some drinks. We followed some locals we met to a bar named Charlie's. Here the bouncers charged me and Hawk triple the cover charge and by the end of the night after numerous drinks the bouncers (I beleive it was the bouncers) stole some money and my camera as I left the club. Unfortunately, Hawk had disappeared earlier as he is known for so I made my way back to the hostel by way of a taxi, a bus, another taxi and then a short walk... and all the while the hostel was only a 15 minute walk from the bar... don't trust the taxis in Slovakia when they start to drive you to the outskirts of the city.
The next couple of days I was quite mad and depressed due to the fact I had lost all my pictures on my
Welcome the Home Team
The Bratislava hockey team. memory card (when my camera was stolen) which covered the past 4 weeks of travelling. But alas I bounced back when we attended a local hockey game which was one of the highlights of this trip so far. The game cost us only $3, a half liter of beer for $1 and a hotdog for $0.70. The game was full of cheerleaders on the ice and in the stands all bearing the hot Slovakian look. In the end the home team HC Slovan beat the visiting HK Aquacity 4-1. Later our friend Jamie we had met took us out and about on a short pub crawl to various styles of pubs including traditional Slovakian pubs, rock pubs and hooka pubs. Later that night me and Hawk headed to a club where as typical Hawk disappeared and left me to wonder alone. Alone I wasn't for long when I met a Mexican who was travelling Europe in a van he bought and was selling Mexican belts, hats and other things. So he offered me a beer... and as any good host would do he turned on his laptop and played some recently downloaded porn he had, downloaded I had assumed. However,
Charlies
What seemed like a friendly local bar eventually stole my camera. after a few videos he pointed to the blanket in the video and then pointed to the blanket on his bed. It was here when it dawned on me that this porn we were watching was shot right here in the van we were drinking in. This was one of the most random people I had ever met, he travels Europe filming his own porn and selling Mexican goods... but above all that his accent was exactly like Antonio "Tony" Montana. After a beer with my Mexican porn star friend I headed back to the hostel and slept far into the next day.
The following night was Halloween and me and the Hawk headed out once again touring the cities pubs and clubs. After a big night we arrived back at the hostel early at 6AM. We were drunk, but the receptionist had a great idea for me to cover for him while he took off for a bit. So I sat there, kept a watchful eye on the place and repeatedly answered the phone only to have the real receptionist on the other end telling me never to answer the phone while he is gone. But he would

Overlooking the roof tops of Bratislava from the castle. call again to test me... and hearing a phone ring I couldn't resist. I sat there for a couple hours, drinking beer, listening to Tupac and writing hundreds of facebook messages... to all those I wrote random stupid messages to, I appologize 😊
Well, after a drepessing start to Bratislava it ended on a high note and as we left for Austria we were all smiles with headaches and hangovers.
