The end of an amazing experience. It has been absolutely incredible to see young and middle-aged people trying their best and making the most of the intensive course I offered at the Central Library here in Pitesti. Everybody was friendly, pro-active and very studious. They seemed to really enjoy themselves on the course and it was a delight to run this training for a month. Learning and developing new skills has no boundaries, no age limit and it is definitively an on-going process. Lovely to see people eager and interested to learn no matter what age they are, their background or professional experience. Great job everybody, thank you for your enthusiasm, hard-work and perseverance! Best of luck in all your future endeavours!! ... read more

A while ago I cooked up a great plan to keep myself busy and active and at the same time do something that feels good and worthwhile. The idea of 'volunteer work' is unfortunately unknown in my country. I was lucky enough to work in a country where 'volunteer work ' is a job in itself ; where people are dedicated and eager to do volunteer work, where the little spare time you get, you go down to a 'Cancer Research' center or any other non-for-profit association and you offer a bit of your time, skills or knowledge to help others. Volunteer work means not only offering your time and skills, but acquiring new ones, learning new things yourself, maximizing your own potential, enhancing your job prospects, etc. It means dedicating time and energy and gaining ... read more

If you feel in a mood to party just make sure you get into that particular 'Let's have a wild crazy time' mood ONLY at the weekend!! To be more specific, Friday or Saturday night. That is, if you find yourself in our lovely city Pitesti. I LOVE Pitesti. Don't get me wrong! I love my city! Apart from providing us with very few work placements, grotesque Customers Service in all public and private sectors ( a sad story that is in fact spread all over lovely Romania), no running water for countless days (sometimes weeks!!) and a few other mishaps, Pitesti is a great city to live in. And party in. That is, again, Friday and Saturday nights ONLY!! God forbid you get home from work and feel like going a bit crazy and having ... read more

At this point i am feeling my reverse culture shock and it is not comfortable at all :). I am at the anger stage and i really get pissed very easy. But i will not talk about that, i will tell you a few words about my last month and a half in Romania, show you some pictures and tell you about the decision made for this year. So, in the last month i managed to travel a bit for some conferences and i spent a lot of time with AIESEC people. I spent the new year eve together with some crazy people that can make you forget about all the problems you have or you had in the last year. I also enjoy working with this people, joking and making fun of each other ... read more

Most of us come to the point where we need to take decisions that will influence us for the rest of our life, it starts with small ones, what mobile operator should i chose? where should i go this summer? should i buy this car or this car? and at one point it gets to "WHAT'S NEXT?" For a person that spent the last years traveling, being away from "home" the question that applies is "should i stay in my home town and do something or travel, explore, live...wander... The problem is that decisions are taken by both mind and heart, during the day i can see the reasons to stay, to do something here and i feel satisfied with the idea of staying, but as soon as night is falling...my heart starts crying for ... read more

Shortly after I posted the entry about the natural beauty of this city, I gathered some pics about recent events. Maybe they are not so big or important, but enough to get one out of an absent state of mind. 1) There was the International Folk Festival - Carpati , August '07 and amazingly were present traditional groups from Bulgaria, Latvia, France, Italy and some locals. It was interesting to see them in such outfits (as seen in the pics). 2) One day in the EuroMall was some children activity with bubbles - it was so nice that it made me remember my childhood songs..emotional at the same time.. 3) What was I saying about meeting old friends? Last week me and my cousin saw Vincent Jacques, whom I met 2 years ago in an ... read more

Since recently I "celebrated" 1 month since I arrived back home, I decided to give a chance to this old place, to get famous among my old friends. Unfortunately, during the summer is not such a good time to visit, because most of the people are in holiday (away to the mountains or seaside), the students are in their home towns and the city center is under construction for some time now....During these 4 weeks spent here almost day by day, I decided to find the beauty hidden in the most unusual places of my home town. I took some pictures here and there and here it is...hehehe.. So, I present you the city (sorry for the dirt, it's under construction nowadays), the river and the new Mall, the huge forest and some streets...these are ... read more

Heeeeeeeee....here I am/once again..la la la...I came back home 2 weeks ago and barely now I decided to post some photos and some fresh impressions. Everybody is asking me nowadays "How was it? What did you like more? Is it better than your country? Where are you leaving next? How do you feel now?" etc etc etc..what can you answer and how fast can you be in order to satisfy all the needs of your friends?! Well, last time I was here was December 2006 and now is August 2007, so imagine what a huge lap in time and space. I feel strange, I cannot say "alone" because at least one person is calling me every day in order to get out and chat. I've received invitations to discos, bars, cafes, picnics, mountains, seaside and ... read more

Hello ppl Here i am again, with a few hours to spend for me. During the last 3 weeks my life was split in between AIESEC Pitesti, AIESEC Romania and AIESEC Lithuania. Financial management, Conference management, training development, agenda development, match and search tools,.......and so on. But here i am ready to post some pictures from the last conferences that i have attended in Romania. One of them is LTS (Local Training Seminar) made by my Home LC (Pitesti) for new members and the 2nd one is ICPS (International Cultural Preparation seminar). The conferences were great, loads of work and pain but with great results and with a lot of fun...for some. Both conferences were in Olanesti, and i spent 10 days in 2 weeks there. Here are some pictures from the conferences, i will ... read more
