We left early for the four hour trip to the Norwegian mountains. On the way I saw for the first time both the beginning and end of a rainbow. Our camp was right by a lake in the middle of a group of mountains. It was very windy and a little chilly with a some sprinkles but very beautiful. Our camp was about a 5 minute walk from where we parked but we all helped to unload and set up camp. Many of us wore coats and pants from the Norwegian army (that is also where we got the four huge tents we used). After setting up the tents we got into teams of five and had some team challenges. The challenges consisted of: carrying the strongest guy to some location and back in the ... read more

On Sundays we have pretty much a free day until church at 5 pm. I walked around the city by myself, had some personal time with God, and also took some pictures (which once I have more time will post on here). The founder of Jesus Revolution is also the pastor of Jesus Church. The praise & worship was in both Norwegian and English. The service was interpreted in English for us. The church is a very young church and really on fire for God. The sermon was on our purpose in life: 1. to know Jesus, 2. to follow Jesus, 3. to lead others to Jesus, 4. to fellowship with Jesus, 5. to worship Jesus. I really liked one of the analogies the pastor used to explain why important it is to be a ... read more

Saturday is our day off. We got to sleep in until 8:00 then had breakfast. After breakfast, we had out PT (personal time with God). I went across the street and tried to have my time by the fountain but it was a little too chilly for me so half way through I came back inside. Then we had praise and worship time followed by information regarding our mountain trip. We have to pack our own food for the trip and will be cooking our food up there. It sounds like it is going to be very beautiful. I had to go buy what Norwegians call "super underwear." It is like long johns but made of wool. Then we took a walking tour of the city. We walked down by the fortress and along the harbor. ... read more

When I arrived in Oslo yesterday it was raining and a little chilly but actually quite nice after leaving the incredibly hot Texas sun. As soon as I got here we got straight into things and I didn't really even have time to breathe. I took my luggage up to the room I share with 17 other girls, yes 17!!! There are 6 bunk bed units with 3 bunks on each; I am on the top bunk because I was one of the last to arrive. To store our belongings we each get one tall locker, a plastic storage box, and two shelves. This is quite different from what I am used to back home. Everyone is incredibly nice! There are people here from Norway, Sweeden, Denmark, Finland, Hungary, France, Iceland, Switzerland and some other places ... read more

Motorhome News from Europe 33 Norway 23rd August 2005 Travels along the big fjords to Bergen It was ‘Turn up the Wow-Meter’ time as we pulled on to narrow winding roads edging the steep-sided mountains cascading dramatically into the fjords, with Janice at the wheel. We were entering the spectacular deep- cut fjords for which this country is famous, and its fruit growing centre where cherries, raspberries, strawberries, apples and plums abound, where roses grow around cottage doors and fresh trees carpet the hillsides; horse chestnut, ash, hazel, lime, sycamore, elm, rowan bright with regal berries, and pine and spruce climb gracefully to the tree-line. Time to sample a few raspberries with sour cream for tea. There is a certain magic about the fjords of Norway without equal anywhere else in Europe. It is the magic ... read more

... read more
