Hallo alleemaal! This is my first entry after arriving in Europe, and a lot has happened so far. I would probably be able to remember more, but I have been without internet until now. It's amazing how lost we are without internet, for only three! 3! days. Anways, we left Portland at 12:00 noon, and took a nonstop flight to Amsterdam. It was kind of a dissapointing flight, because I could hardly sleep at all, knowing that it would doom me once we got to Holland, which we arrived in at 7:00 AM! with a whole day to go!!! jet lag mucho mucho sucks...and im still not over it...anyways, we get through customs very quickly, and hit the most important stop in the Schipol Amsterdam Airport....BURGER KING! just kidding...only Tiffany did that....and it was nasty too...but ... read more

Jah we hebben vandaag heerlijk gezwommen. Het was ook zo'n goed weer... echt lekker helemaal los in het water! Waarom is zwemmen zo goed voor de hond? Zwemmen remt de gewrichtsslijtage (die artrose wordt genoemd) af. Gewrichtsslijtage ontstaat door beschadiging van het kraakbeen (= de binnenbekleding) van de gewrichten. Tijdens het zwemmen worden de gewrichten bewogen zonder dat ze belast worden. Niet belasten van de poten vermindert de druk op de gewrichten waardoor minder kraakbeenbeschadigingen ontstaan en het minder pijnlijk is reeds versleten gewrichten te bewegen. Tevens wordt door bewegen meer gewrichtsvloeistof gevormd. Deze vloeistof voedt het kraakbeen en smeert het gewricht. In het water kunnen geen plotselinge scherpe bochten worden gemaakt, zoals bij het spelen met een balletje op een grasveld. Bij deze balspelletjes worden de gewrichten, pezen en banden overbelast. It’s a good day. Saturday. The skies are blue, the air is warm. Festival time. Getting to Megaland in Landgraaf takes longer than planned. Traffic, lack of proper directions, a completely illogical parking system, and funny logistics to the actual festival ground gets us in the gates right in the middle of The Killers’ performance. Little do I care. Sure, they’ve got a few good songs, but they’re no heavyweights yet. A few hours and beers later the main act takes the stage. Years of anticipation to see The Boss in concert becomes reality. As is customary, the intro to Badlands kicks off the party. Don’t really know the song, but the intro has got some catchy rock’n’roll feel to it, and the scratchy voice sets the “I’m the sheriff around here” tone. It’s the opening ... read more

Treca selidba po redu, najtraumaticnija do sad. Iz jednog voza u drugi, iz jednog vagona u onaj koji nastavlja za Mastriht. Jer, ne postoji direktna linija. Niti neko ko ce o tome da te obavesti. Dezorganizacija koja funkcionise! Kako, pojma nemamo. Jer, nista se ne podrazumeva. Vozovi krenu u jedan grad, zavrse u drugom, radnje danas rade do 6, sutra do 8, prekosutra uopste ne rade, nista se ne podrazumeva. Naravoucenije - za sve pitaj triput. Po treci put ponovo trazi taxi da preveze cergu od milion kofera, snalazi se na karti, potrefi ulicu, prenesi prnje, poljubi vrata. Umalo. Ko na filmu, pred vratima poruka, u kaficu preko puta koverat za nas. Kljucevi od sobe. Zbunjene i mrtve umorne, jedva se dovlacimo do drugog sprata, gde nas docekuje prostrana soba, zajednicko kupatilo, plazma tv i adsl ... read more
