Sailing across Lake Garda

We woke up and had breakfast at our Hotel Europe. We then decided to walk around Verona before it started raining. Once it started raining we headed out of town. Well our walk lasted for less than 2 hours. We were in the car and heading toward Torri Del Bennico on Lake Garda. This is where we were to pick up the ferry and cross Lake Garda.

We were to be there before 12:30, easy right, Wrong. As we’re pulling up the ferry is leaving. WHAT! It’s 12:15, unlike the Germans Italians run on a different clock. Bea runs into the office and asks, is there another ferry. Si, Si, 45 minutes. Ok, we wait. We wait for 30 minutes; their watches run different.

As we drive off the ferry we met Peta and Eberchart and followed them back to their apartment. This is Kirsten and Bea’s cousin and her husband. They happen to be vacationing in Italy and invited us for the evening we accepted.

They took us to dinner at an Italy family style restaurant. I believe this was the best meal in my life. I cannot begin the put into words how good it was. Our meal lasted 4 hours; it was worth every minute.

As we walked back to their apartment I thought if only all problems could be settled over a meal like what we had tonight. I think the world would be a much nicer place
