Bella Venezia!!!

Hello again!

We successfully made it onto the correct train in Romes large train station. Wasn t hard at all as soon as we knew what we were doing! Had an interesting experience there, while I went to ask a question about what track we should be at (just to make sure) 😊. Mom and Dad were approached by a young man asking for their tickets and pointing to a baggage cart. They refused and he was still nicely asking when I came back and also refused to hand over my ticket. We then got on the train and lo and behold there he was too! He kept
switching seats and hiding in the women's bathroom trying to avoid the conductor as (just as we thought) he was hopping the train! That was the only experience we have had for the most part with any sort of "scam" attempts, am still (a lot) suspicious of our Coliseum tour
guide. Will try and tell that one another time, it wasn't a big deal. Haven't seen anything of begging gypsy kids, big disturbances, etc... that we've heard to beware of. Everyone so
far has been very nice, honest and helpful! Really wonderful people and their English is much better than my Italian. Though I must confess I m really enjoying butchering their beautiful language in my own unique way! They still seem to understand what I m trying to say, bless them😊

Right out of the train station we were able to find the right water bus to our bus station, right across the way from where we are staying. Already have been to St. Marks square twice and are going back to see it at night and enjoy the music. Took the slow boat to see the sights down the Grand Canal, got off and crossed the Rialto bridge.... the atmosphere here is such a contrast to Rome. Rome = crazy, excitement, busy, life to the max my first
impression of Venice = laid back, relaxed, slow, just wander slowly and smell the roses. I think we and our feet are really ready for that.
